OMG! I am OBSESSED with DisBoards! Ahh - Support Group needed...

Hi there. We were actually at Disney this past weekend. We ran the Everest Challenge at Animal Kingdom - lots of fun. Then we hung out at Epcot all day Sunday for the Food and Wine Festival. It was just my DH and I; we ate and drank and listened to great bands all day long. Great weekend!

By the way - the cruise is FABULOUS! Yes, its pricey, but well worth it. My kids actually like it better than WDW.

I'm gonnna PM you about DVC.

Jodie

Hi Jodie! That sounds awesome!!!:thumbsup2 After our family trip to Disney I was ready to go back with just my husband! I'd love to sneak one in there! Tammy

HELLO Out There!! How is everyone? And their Dis-addictions? Mine is FULL Speed into overdrive for some reason these days!!?? Thanks to DH and DS2... And since I applied to be on the Mom's Panel it has got me thinking... The kids are only little for so long, we need to soak up their love of Disney and innocence as much as possible!! Right?? ;)

Sunday DH and I spent the day doing house stuff- chores, cleaning the carpets where our NEW PUPPY has pee'ed and what not, general cleaning, picking up toys from teh yard and just overall organizing... a little halloween/fall docorating... things like that. We we shut off the TV (the Patriots had a buy week) and put on some music from the computer. Well I added a bunc of Disney stuff to the playlist... Yo Ho, a pirates life for me, songs from Toys Story, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Bear in The Big Blue House (which DS2 LOVES LOVES LOVES these days) and songs from rides - like the Splash Mountain meledy, Carosel of Progress and things like that! Yikes! WHAT A MISTAKE!!! When we saw DS2 singing along to all of that stuff it made me/us SOO HAPPY! We dot on the computer that night and started pricing thinsg out!! AHHH! I was all good waiting to do our every 2 years thing! We even looked into Disney Cruises! A bit more $$ than I was wanting to spend!!

So, to no evail,:surfweb: my Disney Obession is in high speed again! Being on a budget this year after spending a good chunk last year we ran a few scenarios... :confused3 a 4 night DCL cruise, a week at a MOderate with DDP, a 6 or 7 night non-DCL cruise or stick to our original plan -a week at the inlaws and a few days at Universal?? I even went as far as to run the idea of a Disney Vacation Club by him - thinking it was a long shot - but he is open to hearing more about it and watching the VIDEO!!?? :headache:

All these things will run w/i our budget or what I was hoping to spend... DH doesnt knwo what saying those sorts of things can do to an addict - now I have been on the DisBoards WDW websites and internet looking into these things and reading up on all kinds of stuff! :scared1:

So whats everyone up to out there??

Grendalynn, You are walking such a dangerous line...oh yeah we are on the disney addiction board!:rotfl2: ...the possibilities are so exciting!! Here's hoping you come up with something fun!pixiedust:

:surfweb: You've got that right! I was so "fine" with not going unti 2010 until DH had a "brilliant" idea... its kind of like teasing and not very nice at all!:headache: So we have pretty much put the idea of WDW behind us ((for now)) ((DH has a funny way of throwing a comment in here or there like "..or we could just go to WDW .... or on a Disney Cruise")) :scared1: SO not nice at all... So we are considering a Non-disney cruise for a week or Universal/Island Of Adventure for a few days staying right on site and then spend some time with my inlaws in central florida and with my sister in the Keys... Having 3 boys I think US/IOA would be a good fit. Less expensive too... but there is soemthing about that carribean water that gets my attention...

Grendalynn,

If your in the boat that we are in the Universal would be an excellent fit and nice on the wallet! I think it is a great time to do it with their excellent pass deals!

The thoughts of going back to Disney unexpectedly are fun while they last!:rotfl:

How is everyone is obsessed land? ;) We just got back the other morning from Disney and I'm already suffering from post-vacation blues. :sad1:

Of course life didn't slow down to let us catch up when we got back. This morning DS had oral surgery to remove one of his wisdom teeth. He is still sleeping off the anesthesia. This was not a planned thing-he started having tooth pain last night (the dentist had told us two months ago the tooth had to come out, but told us to wait as he may need one more pulled and it was not urgent). Suffice to say, we went to the oral surgeon first thing this morning on an emergency basis. Glad that it is out of the way, but it made things a bit hectic. We still have full suitcases that we did not unpack yet. Disney was great as usual-F&W Festival and MNSSHP were awesome, but we did get a bit more rain than usual on this trip. Now we are counting the days off until we go back for Christmas. Hope everyone is doing well. :goodvibes

Hey! Glad to hear you had a great trip. Any more details you wanna give? I am living vicariously through everyone else's trip as ours seems so faaaaaar away.

I haven't been spending too much time on the boards since I am getting ready for a trip but to NYC instead of WDW. We leave tomorrow!

How is everyone else out there?

What's this?!?!?!?! Someone else from "the loveliest village"? Hello :wave2: and WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Counting down the days to the VWL!!!!! (50 to be exact :cool1: )

Anyone have any brilliant ideas for celebrating our 10th anniversary while we're there? I looked at the Disney Florist stuff and it seems too expensive.

Hellooooo to you and WAR EAGLE!!

Congrats on your anniversary! You noted it on your reservation, right? I came across someone else who did gift baskets at WDW, but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was. Make sure you get your anniversary buttons though.

Anything in particular you'd like to hear about/see pics of? I have plenty of everything. I'll try to upload a mixture either over the weekend or on Monday. Laundry, mail, food shopping, catching up on work...I'm buried in it, but still Dis'ing of course (cause its so sad to be home). :sad2: Have a great time in NYC!

Anything you wanna share is fine with me! Take your time, I don't get back until Wednesday and then I will have absolutely nothing to distract me from next year's trip!!

:welcome: to DisAddicts annonomus! This is a great place to be!! This thread has been alive and well for over 2 years!!?? Who would have thunk it? :confused3 :confused3 I thought I was THE ONLY person so adicted to the DisBoards that Dh thought I had an online lover... :rotfl: We all have Disney Issues in one way shape or form... weather it be avoiding our daily household duties while we surf the boards, plan imaginary trips that wonthappen for years, ignor our children while they trash the house and we surf the DisBoards, Sneaking a post here or there while at work or when DH is home, OR not showering or getting dressed all together!! Not that I have ever done any of those things... ;)

Yes we help each other more by justifying the addiction rather than fighting it! It's a novel approach to therapy, but it seems to work for me ;)

Oh and I have no idea what Grendalynn is talking about. Not showering, planning imaginary trips and ignoring children. Sheesh, I never heard of such things :rolleyes1  I mean sure I haven't taken a shower today and my son is scattering his birthday presents all over the living room (he turned 4 yesterday :scared1: ), but I am pretty sure that I will be going to WDW in over a year or so. So the trip is not imaginary! We just haven't made reservations yet.;)

Congratulations! SO exciting! DH and I did a Land & Sea a few years back with our 2 boys -it was AMAZING!! :wizard: LOVED IT!!:cloud9: There was so much to do that we felt guilty having down time with the boys in our stateroom!! We are SO going for a week the next time... BEst luck to you and all of your wedding planning! My sister just got married a month ago - I know how much work it is. Dont forget to take a moment and enjoy it - its a big step in your life! ;) :goodvibes

I knew I was in good company!! I am at work right now, but had a life changing delima to ask my cohorts on The DisBoards about - to add more hours to my work schedule or not.... Where else to I go when I need feedback on life changing descisions?? Where else - The DisBoards!! I have come here for advice on weather or not to have baby #3, what to name baby #3, when we had baby #3, inlaws, how much to spend at christmas, laundry issues, crazy neighbors, the list goes on!!! I wouldnt have it any other way!! ;)

Awwww...congrats! Like Gren said, make sure you enjoy the moments and not get to caught up in the work that is planning a wedding.

I think it was more of a processing moment than anything. I ended up makinga counter-offer on the rate of pay and havent heard back yet about the descision or not... I figure if I am going to work more, and pay out more in day care $$, it should be worth my while... I dont expect to get paid millions, but a little better than what was offered would be nice. We will see... I am not selling myself or my family short. We dont "need" the money that badly!
