OMG! I am OBSESSED with DisBoards! Ahh - Support Group needed...

How is everyone? I've been in full blown Disney mode due to having just made all our ADR's for our October and December trips, so now I have the itch bad. I can't believe this thread has been going nearly a year and a half...look what you started Grendalynn! The boards have been keeping me going over this horrible holiday weekend. All it has done is rain here at the Jersey Shore-hardly BBQ weather. Hope everyone else had a nice weekend!

I know it - and to think I was thought I was the only one with a Dis-addiction!!?? Time tells me that I am far fromalone on that!! Our 4th weather was amazing! Spent the entire w/e at the river and soaking up the sun! Too hot today for the river though. The A/C and The Dis are keeping us in - and no, I am not paying any attention to the house work ot laundry that needs to be done!! Soon I will have an Iced Coffee in hand checking out some other threads!!

---> I am on the budget board more and more these days! You can really get some great ideas or inspiration on that board! I am there a lot this summer as I decided not to get a summer job and so its just DHs paychecks until we get backto school this fall! I have even gone so far as to start a big garden to help cut back on our produce costs this summer... And I just got a phone call from our mechaic that my Durango needs breakpads and rotars!! Its a never ending battle!! I dont want to be a big kid any more!!!

All the ADR talk makes me want to go back to WDW sooo badly!!! I miss our vacation and would love ogo back this winter, but "it just ain't hapening!! " The economy is rocky and being that DH owns a trucking company, good only knows what gas prices will entail.... How often to you all go to Disney? Yearly, bi-yearly, every 3 years or more?....?? I was thinking about going to the Inlaws this winter in Florida for a week and then DH and I skipping off to an island or on a cruise alone for a few days sans kids... not a bad idea ...

YUP! I'm an addict too. I just started on here a couple days ago and i'm checking multiple times a day!

What else is new out there?? Whats everyone up to?? Disney related or not-so-Disny related???

PS Did anyone see "the other" board about being Disney Obsessed?? Glad to say that we had our obsession out in the open for all to see a good year before they saw the light! We havent gone anywhere for vacation this year (well DH and I went to the Smokies in January to celebrate our 10th anniversary but nowhere as a family). Anyway, so DH has me researching beach places (we live about 3 hours away from the Gulf of Mexico).

This, of course because I am obssesed , led me to research staying (GASP) offsite next year at WDW. The funny thing is even though DH is the one holding back, he will NOT stay offiste even tough it's cheaper! He's a Disney snob! Anyway he has asked me to let the WDW trip drop for a few months and we'll re-evaluate then. I see this as hopeful although it will be very hard not to talk about it!

Keep Moving Forward, your ADR's look great! And yes I'm jealous!!

Ok, so DH, DS5, DSalmost2, and I all sat down and finally watched our Disney vidoes from this past April!!!! We were al so excited o watch the videos even DS almost 2 was tuned in! It was a great evening!!

BUT It makes me/us want to go back sooo badly!!! I cant even stand it.... so I have a question or all my Disney friends/addicts ou there.... Can I make a reservation this August when new rates come out for as far in advance as possible (such as 8/09) AND THEN change them to a way later date (like March 2010) when that time nears?? More or less, I just want to be able to pay on the vacation as much as possible; kind of like a mini-Disney-Savings plan??? Does this make sense?? Kind of a weird question, but worth asking... I have never cancelled, changed or re-arranged any reservaions before soI amnot really sue how that all works.... Thanks buches!!!

Ah, the real problem is tearing yourself away after only a few posts. If I could, I would surf the board most of the day!

DH says I'm on Disney overkill. I just laugh...especially when he is watching tv and a Disney commercial or show comes on-I tell him there is no getting away from the mouse, even when I'm not running at the mouth about it.

So I had an epiphany the other night at about Midnight - yes, I was in bed, with my laptop, surfing the DisBoards!! I think that is why I started this post... ...

anyway - I decided that I would do some research and maybe do the US/IOA thing this winter....

Its just not in the budget to do WDW again this winter as DH likes to do Deluxe and I just cant see that happening and I like to spread our WDW trips out to keep the magic alive - the anticipation is as magical as WDW is itself!! Anyway, we always go to Florida in March or April to visit my inlaws for two weeks - by the end of the first week we are all sick of each other. So we usually try to escape for a few days somewhere else....

So what better place that US/IOA??? I am a newbi when it comes to that part of Orlando... I am very much looking forward to the planning process, although I only see it as a 3 or 4 day trip, not the 7 - 8+ that I would idealy do at WDW. It will be a lot more abbreviated than last year but just as fun! What is the best amount of night to go??? I was thinking 2 or 3....?? Any advice out there?? I am looking at the Royal Pacific.... or Hard Rock Hotel - which is better?? Can you book and make payment through the US website like you can for Disney or is a totally differnt thing?? I may post these Q's on the US/IOA thread as well!! And Yes, I am avoiding the laundry and Dishes, DSs are busy playing in their rooms and here I am - with cup of coffe in hand!! I just love Summer vacation!

I've been a guide now for a few days and have only been doing it a little while every day and have made over 30 bucks! Not much I know, but I can be a guide and read the Dis at the same time.

So I would be on the computer anyway so mine as well make some cash doing it!! If you're interested let me know and I'll give more info.

Good Morning all!! I am here with Cup of Coffee in hand watching mickey Mouse Club house with DS1... And surfing the Disney Boards of course!!! What a great way to start my morning! I should be grocery shopping.... Swimming lessons are finally over so now I can wake up with the Dis Boards and coffee!! I am having such Mouse fever that its unreal!! We dug out the family movies from our April WDW vacation and DS1 has been obsessed with them!! I think he is a little like his Mom... Anyway - watching the movis makes me want to go back to WDW SO BADLY!!! i know its not going to happen this winter, and thats fine, I know 2010 isnt that far away - although it feels like forever!!!

I think we will do Universal this year, so I have been trying to fingure all of that out, I amnot as familiar with US/IOA as I am with al tings Disney.... and its just not the same as Disney World. There isnt nearly as much planning to do. But thats part of the Disney Magic - the anticipation and waiting and waiting for your vaca time to arrive. I went camping this weekend and brought my Disney travel planning books. Even though think I am pretty "worldy" I still enjoy the reading... alhough it was kind of like teasing.

I am already starting a savings for our next WDW trip. With the prices rising as they seem to be, I cant even imagine what the prices will be by then. So start saving I will!! We are putting all our can-recycling toward our Disney Fund and I have signed up for ChaCha.... not sure what that will bring, but its money for WDW!!

This is totally what others don't get about Disney. It's fun just to plan even if your next trip isn't for a few years.

Hey disers! We went to my parents' house this weekend which is about the only vacationing we'll be doing. We just can't work in the beach trip before they start school. They start August 11th here

I'm still doing good and not bugging DH about next year's trip. I'm also trying not to plan too much so I'm not disappointed if we can't make it. Just waiting around for the packages to come out next month.

Did anyone find out about whether you can book and the keep rescheduling for later? Just curious....

I checked out that ChaCha site since I'm on the web a lot for work, but I think it would drive me a bit nutty after a while. Is it really worth the time or do you just chalk it up to time you would have spent on the web anyway so might as well earn a few bucks for it? Or do you actually make set times each day to do it so its more like a job?

I believe it can!! I called -1-407-wdisney today and asked about it... This is MY take on it: I used the scenario of how a refund might happen if I were to have a trip booked for say August of 2009, and then have to change it from one date (8/09) to another date a ways down the road for some reason, lets say February 2010... Would it have to be refunded or could the money just be put towadrd a future date/different booking. As long as the vaca was in the alotted 410 days (or whatever the crazy number is) out, then it can be done, but if it were in another rate season, it would have to be refunded.... because the rates are different year to year - as long as you cancelled it within 45 days before your anticipted check in date you would get a rul refund..... Call a CM to have them explain it to you, but it can be done as long as you hit your dealines.... Something to think about!!
