We are here at OKW for our first DVC stay and I have to say I love it. I did online check-in and we didn't wait at all when we checked in at the lobby. We are in bldg 19 in rm 1910 We have a studio this time and it is very spacious for the 4 of us.(WE have plenty of room for the air mattress for one of the kiddos) DH 42 me 44 DS 14 and DD 11. We have a ground floor and our room is right across from the bus stop at Miller's road. They were able to honor both of our requests. WE ate at Olivia's without an adr and walked right in around 6:30 pm I got the prime rib and it melted in my mouth. Thanks to the tips I rec'd on here, we are using wi-fi with our router from home.

The room is very neat and clean, not sure if it is a refurnished one or not. The only down side is we are very close to one of the small pools and they are re-doing it but we will not let this be a downer on our trip as we are just a short walk or ride to the main pool.

Sounds like your first DVC is going great! Enjoy your trip it sounds wonderful so far!! :goodvibes

Thanks for posting this! We are checking in at OKW in 3 weeks and it'll be our first stay there. Can't wait! Enjoy!

Enjoy our home! Yes, all of the rooms are refurbished at OKW. Glad to hear they are redoing the Miller's Road pool. I like the location of the hot tub there.

Wonderful !

Thanks for posting this. We will be staying there for the first time in October for two nights before we move to BWV for the last five for F&W. We've always wanted to stay there.

Enjoy ! popcorn::

We just got back from a week at our OKW home. They have a new pool activities director. I think he used to work at HHI. He added a lot more things to do at the pool in the afternoon and I think the campfires are every night now. The weather was perfect for spending every afternoon at the pool. Enjoy!

sounds awesome...we arrive on Sat, do you know if they have mini-golf near or at OKW? Of all the things to do at Disney, my 5 year old wants to mini golf :rotfl:

I arrive at OKW on Sunday.
As far as mini golf goes the closest one is Fantasia Gardens, across the street from the Swan hotel. If you have a car it's a short drive, 2.7 miles. Take a left out of OKW, a right on Buena Vista Dr, right at the fifth light, Epcot Resorts Blvd and it's on the left. Total trip 5-8 minutes. Fantasia Gardens has 2 courses one suitable for the little one and the other very very difficult.
If you continue on Buena Vista Dr another 1.5 miles the other mini golf Winter/Summerland is on the left. Both suitable for little ones.

By Disney transportation your best bet would be to bus to DHS and then boat (or walk) to the S/D and walk across the street. Total trip approx 30-45 mins depending on wait times for bus and boat.

By taxi approx $10 plus tip

OKW is not one of our homes, but we find we stay here more and more each year. We are always impressed with this report and have no problem booking here, esp. when we want the bigger space.

:)Glad you are enjoying OKW. We (DH & I) will be there in a studio in Oct. and are looking forward to it. Our entire family was there in a 2br (HH location) in March and love the spaciousness of the villas. The boat to DTD is a great perk, too. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

In our welcome packet there was a brochure that did list act's every hr or so at the main pool and the same thing at community hall.

The movies are everynight as well as the campfire.

Take the bus to blizzaRD BEACH and there is a mini golf course beside it. There is a walkway to it.

Sooooo jealous!! Enjoy OKW, it is our favorite! Olivia's too!
Wish we were there!! So cold and windy here, in the low 40's. Wishing we were there!

We'll be staying for the first time in OKW 1BR for a relaxing wkend. Told our 9 yr old daughter this is a laid back trip that mom needs, so will be hanging at the resort and DD. The pool by day and movies/campfire at night sound perfect. How far a ride is it to DD, and do you go by boat? Any other laid back things to do there, like shuffle board?

Yes there is a shuffleboard court, as well as tennis and basketball courts and ping pong.
