OMG! Early January looks very busy

How can I find out the crowd level for our dates, Jan. 14-18th? Is it a website or a book? Thanks so much

You have to subscribe to the website...I looked up your dates for you...they are:

Jan. 14 - 6
Jan. 15 - 5
Jan. 16 - 4
Jan. 17 - 4
Jan. 18 - 5

Those are good numbers...looks like you'll be good to go!

We are also going Jan 2-4. According to Unofficial Guides crowd predictor, the 3 days we will be there are only listed as 6 and 7's out of 10. Here's hoping !

The UG is way off ... they listed those same numbers for that week this year, and the parks were packed. For 2008 TourGuideMike has rated January 1 thru 5 as a crowd level 5 out of 5, which is more like it.

Schools down there don't go back from the holidays this year until Jan. 7 -- that is the reason why!

Not only that, but Great Britain and South America have extended holidays as well. They account for much of the crowd.

we will be there 1-6 and we cannot wait!! we are making one last trip before our ap expires and my dd will be out for school until the 7th. we are also going in 1 month today 12/14-12/19. in jan., we will start really early and get things done like the other trips.

Those dates were blackout dates (not included in the discounted rates with code) this year.

About the swimming, people say it depends on your tolerance level. The pools are heated, which is great, but it's the getting out of the pool into the cold air that'll getcha! My kids probably won't care how cold it is -- they just love the pool, so we'll be in there.

We are booked for 1/6-1/13 and had no issue booking - however this was 5 months ago... But, we just upgraded from POR to AKL with no problem about a week ago. Anywho - I wanted to let everyone who will be staying at WDW on 1/8 that...

I just wanted to let everyone know that DF and I have booked a Deluxe Wishes Cruise at 7:30 on January 8, 2008. The cruise will include snacks and drinks, boat and captain. The music from Wishes will also be piped into the boat. So far there are 4 people going. We have space for 4 more if anyone is interested. The cost should total out to about $45 per person. PM me if you are interested!!!

I really wish we were still there then, but the girls have to be back in school. Someday we WILL do a WIshes cruise. It's just as they get older it gets harder to make up the work. Older DD missed Friday and Tuesday (we went to the mountains Friday through Monday, she came home with a stomach virus, ). Progress reports came out today for midterm and she has dropped two letter grades in math until she makes up a test in there. Of course it will come back up but she is very stressed right now.

Well, we thought by doing the week after New Year's instead of Thanksgiving week we would have lighter crowds, but it doesn't look that way this year. Should have stuck with Thanksgiving (Sun-Wed before Thanksgiving was awesome in 2005). Oh well.
I do have to say that I had no problem booking the vacation back in September. We actually didn't make final plans including ADR's and changing hotels back in early October so hopefully it won't be too bad. Luckily we have been enough over the past few years that we don't mind if we have to skip some rides. And don't forget there are always FastPasses! I am REALLY trying to reassure myself, can you tell? Oh well, at least we will be at WDW which is soooooooo much better than being at home.



Hi Rcraw.........I hope your Kelly is feeling better. My son, Kyle(the one in Drumline), went through the same thing 2 weeks ago when he was out sick. He is just finishing making up the tests he missed. Hopefully the new scores will be posted before Progress Reports.

I just re-booked my trip to get the AP rate for Wilderness Lodge...and had my pick of most resorts and all types of rooms. I'm going Jan 6-12 also changed some ADR's this week with no problems. I don't think it's going to be that bad...busy yes, but not very busy. Plus people should be arriving mid to end of the week for the marathon.
