Well almost.

We took him with us when we went Christmas shopping today and he was alright until we got to the Disney Store. Then he started saying "Want want want" and trying to grab everything in sight. DH and I decided on two stuffed animals (a Santa Mickey and a Santa Marie) for my DNieces. While we were waiting to pay for them, we didn't realize that DS had grabbed an Ariel spinny-light-thingie (the thing that's got a handle with Ariel on top and three sticky out bits that spin around and flash and stuff) from a nearby bin. We pay for our purchases and leave the store. DH and I are talking and we're nearly out to the car when we realize DS has something in his hands.
"Wait a minute? Did we pay for that?"
"Uh..no."
We looked at each other.
"Oh *bleep*.."
So we turn around and go back into the mall, completely embarrassed so we can return it.
The CM thanked us for being so honest..she said most people might not have even cared enough to come back with the accidentally shoplifted item.

Well, I did order my 2007 WDW planning video a few days ago..... :scratchin

Maybe DH is planning on giving me a solo trip? I know we can't exactly afford it right now, but it would be nice. :)

Good thing you were not at WDW I hear they are realy cracking down on being honest. You get dragged away and forced to leave your kids watching a parade...

:rotfl: That's why it pays to have your magic shopping bag. Just fill it up and pay before you leave.

It happens at the stores constantly...don't be embarrassed, it isn't anything new to us. Thanks for being honest!

ETA: I think some of us are spending way to much time on the DIS...

You're welcome Linzy. We felt like such idiots for not noticing he had this large, light up whirling thing in his hands. :faint:

OMG this exact thing happened to us. We went into the Disney Store at West Edmonton Mall 2 years ago. My ds2 almost 3 at the time wanted a toy that sounds exactly like the one you described. It was like a circle on a stick with wavy colours that spun around and lit up. Well I said no and without even noticing he stuffed it under his shirt and we walked out of the store. So I notice him walking funny and look at the front of his shirt and sure enough this toy falls out. I asked him "did you take this after Mommy said no"? He was honest and said yes and then started sobbing. We marched him right back into the store made him put it back and apologize to the clerk. She was really good with him but gave him that stern look and said taking things without paying is wrong no matter how bad you want it so dont do that again! He was so remorseful he must of cried for 10 minutes. We told him that stealing was wrong and explained why but did praise him for telling the truth! Man I was so embarrassed:blush:

It has been told that the crackdown on shoplifting at WDW wasn't effective until they posted that anyone caught would be prosecuted and sentenced to three days hard listening of "It's a Small World After All". Truth be told the rehab was actually an addition of a holding room in the ride for those found quilty.

You can walk away with a clean record if you are willing to pay 50 times the price of the item. And rumor is Disney is making big money on this.

:lmao: my dd 'stole' an elmo when she was little. I didn't realize it for about 2 or 3 days! she already had one, and apparently grabbed another when we were at the mall...I didn't even realize she had hers at home! I saw her with 2 of them and then it clicked.....

But what's the punishment if you LIKE "It's a Small World"? :rotfl:

And what's 'quilty'? Is that where the CMs find you making a quilt in a room that you aren't allowed to quilt in because you already have 3 in the room and it's only 4 to a room, so making a 5th one would be against the rules? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Nothing they can do. It's impossible to prosecute the already insane.

You get to partake in the perp parade. DH tried and tried to get into the parade, but never succeeded. :guilty:

when Emily was about 3 she stole some candy from KBee toys. I made her bring it back and apologize. But you know, KBee toys is almost begging for it - they keep it at a kid's eye level, and under a mom's eye level. Of course kids are going to be tempted to take it.
