OMG!! Airfare went down for me. Pls help me choose which airport!

We paid $300 fee to pick up at one airport and dropoff at another CA so please be sure there are no fees associated with that.

Thanks! I made a ressie through National that isn't too bad. Will try and get that down with coupons as the date gets closer.

I just called Delta, and an agent said I had 24 hours to cancel my itineraries (so about 40 minutes from now). Should I do this and cancel my (2) one-way tickets for everyone to make a new one roundtrip ticket (multi city)?? The price is the same still, but we would get in 3 hours later to MCO on our day of arrival.

I can't even think straight right now. If for some reason we have to change, we would be out $900 if I had a roundtrip itinerary. With both one-ways, we'd essentially be out $1800 which is our ticket price!! ($150 pp per ticket change each way)

What would you all do???

I would do multi-city for piece of mind, and when you cancel the first reservation the earlier time may open back up (though I wouldn't wait more than a few hours)

Both MCO and TPA are pretty easy to work with and I certainly agree with the other posters that you can go in one and out the other without a problem.

Before you book the airfare, also be sure to check the cost of your rental car. Sometimes you can lose everything you gained on airfare if the rental cost is higher.

Well the car rental would stay the same - I'm just contemplating switching two one-way tickets for 1 roundtrip (per person) but getting penalized with an arrival of 3 hours later because of changing the itinerary.

We have done both - Flown into Tampa, out of Orlando and
Into Orlando and out of Tampa
Sometimes it's even been cheaper than into and out of Orlando.
IMO, I would fly into Tampa and out of Orlando.
We usually want to maximize our time at WDW and it's easier to plan for travel time from WDW to MCO, then it would be to do WDW to TPA.
PLUS Tampa's airport is fairly close to downtown and affected greatly by rush hour traffic. The times we've flow out of Tampa, I've always felt very stressed about getting to the airport on time. Where I never feel stressed about getting to MCO.
If you fly into TAMPA and even if it is rush hour, it probably won't be as stressful.

Thank you for the push. I just did it. Whew. I couldn't even sleep last night because I kept thinking how we'd be out so much money if I had to change flights for 2 one-ways, so I guess I just needed confirmation from someone. I just hated to lose those 3 hours at POR. My DH just kept telling me to do whatever I thought was the best, so THANK YOU for actually helping me!! :goodvibes

Mermaid, go to Mousesavers and sign up for the free Emerald Club for National. It is usually around $50 to join but free if you use their link. This will save some on your rental. Also, look on the car page for the "car and driver" discount. There are 2 of them. Try them both but I think the second of the 2 was the better code. I just used it last week. No proof of anything needed. It saved me well over $100 on the rental. Oh, and try combining coupon codes. And don't forget, once you find the lowest rate using these codes, check back often. I saved an extra $10 the night before my trip. Hey, that's the price of a couple of bottles of water at WDW.

Thanks! I do belong to the Emerald Club which I learned about on here for my first trip, but thanks for the Car and Driver code info. Going to try it now.

No problem!! It's definitely better to have your outbound and return connected on the same ticket should any problems arise (which may be totally beyond your control).

I'm glad the prices dropped for both airports so you could easily visit both cities on your trip!
