I bought this thing over a year ago and have barely used it. I even bought a few lenses.

I cannot take good photos with it. It seems to have significant lag time between pressing the button and actually snapping the photo. They come out very blurry if there is any movement at all.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a Canon 40D that takes great photos but is too large to lug around all the time. I thought this would be a good walk around camera, but I have yet to get good photos from it.

Suggestions?

I think the early Pens were very slow focusing. You can try pre-focusing and bump up the shutter speed to freeze any motion.

Do you have the E-P2, E-PL2, or E-PM2? Olympus is known for extremely fast AF, particularly with Oly lenses. I don't have the E-P2 but I do have the other two and they aren't slow. What mode do you shoot in and what shutter speeds are your blurry shots?

I just did a search on dpreview and there was talk about the E-P2 being very slow but that was fixed when the E-P3 was introduced. I picked up the E-PM2 for less than $200 on Amazon a year ago and I also have the OMD-EM5 and the E-P5, all of them with the newer 16mp sensors and they are extremely fast. If it's the E-P2 you have, I would look into getting a used or refurbished 16mp Olympus instead and I think you would be a lot happier with it. Which lenses did you pick up? There are some really excellent lenses in micro 4/3's.

I have the E-PL2.

I also have 3 different lenses for it, the one it came with, a telephoto, and a pancake. I also have a fisheye but I haven't even tested that out yet.

I had such high hopes and have simply never been happy with it.

I have thought of selling it and getting a Canon G something or other.

I really just want to snap a photo without having to do a lot of fiddling for a lot of the shots.

Thanks guys. I think this isn't going to work for me. It is in perfect condition as I haven't used it much because I couldn't get good photos with it. I think I will stick it on CL or ebay or something.
