Olympic Schedule Released - Anyone Going?

I really want to go to one event - just to say I've been really lol

It would need to be one of the £20.12 tickets though.

I would also like to go to an event at the actual Olympic park and not one of the existing facilities like the O2 or ExCel.

Favourite so far is Swimming, but that might change

As I really dislike watching sport and really hate crowds it is probably not for me .... I can just imagine the public transport hell in London, particularly on the Underground during the Olympic period ... I will be avoiding it like the plague ! Sorry to be so negative .... as I am sure some people will love it

I'd love to be able to go and see the athletics and/or swimming but that's the only thing that interests me really.

Maybe the football as well.

I think Coventry will be be hosting some of the womens football at the Ricoh (which is supposed to be renamed as it's advertising ). Personally I'm not interested in the Olympics, so I won't be travelling to London, I can't imagine anything worse than all those crowds

I hope those that are interested get some tickets, and enjoy watching it, any idea what the ticket prices will be ?

Like you Tim, I would love to go to something just to say I was there, not sure what yet though, but as it doesnt come round very often I am tempted to one of the cheaper priced events in the actual Olympic Stadium

We what to go to the opening or closing, if we do closing we will try for the athletics the day before
Our youngest has been asking since he was 6 (now 15) if England won the Olympics are we going don't think we can disappoint him

Oh Ive just seen that some of the football is also being held in Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, so if I cant get to London, that will def be an option seeing as its right around the corner from me

I would love to go & see nearly any event at the Olympics, may try for tickets but with the way work is no doubt they will change our rota again next year making it very hard to plan anything

Hopefully but sadly the British olympics are so Londoncentric its not going to be easy for the majority of the country

I would LOVE to get tickets for the opening ceremony - I can just imagine the lump in my throat as Team GB took to the field while the national anthem played.
Who am I kidding? LUMP? I would be bawling my eyes out!

Failing that, I could easily get to the rowing events as they are being held just 2 miles away. The marathon is also a possibility as anyone can line a marathon route.

I would love it if the whole country got together to support this and the press didn't do their normal whinging whining putting-everything-down stance.

The press don't need to, the Great British Public seem to be doing a good enough job themselves from the comments I've seen in various places.

I'm thinking of trying for tickets for the archery, shooting, track cycling and swimming - hoping if I apply for a few I will get lucky with one of them. Will definitely try for £20.12 tickets for the opening and closing as well. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to say "I was there when the Olympics were in my home country" and I don't want to miss it.

I would love to go to some of the olympics, would love to see athletics, swimming, gymnastics. Anything really but it will be far too expensive to stay down there and travel to it. I will just have to make do with watching it on the tele.

I am going to try really hard and go to the commonwealth games in glasgow in 2014

I was in London a few months ago and the Travelodge I was staying at doubled its prices to cash in on the tube strike, so god knows what they will do during the Olympics!

I can't even get the pdf schedule to open.

Mountain biking is just up the road from me in Hadleigh but like Hildasmuriel i would absolutely LOVE to go to the opening or closing ceremony.

All my eldest daugher seems to care about though is whether or not it will be cheap to go on holiday with her mates.

I'm currently working in London (just yards from the site of the Beach Volleyball so can't miss getting caught up in Olympic fever), but whether that is still the case in 2012 or not, I will definitely be taking two weeks off and going to as many events as I can get tickets for. I have always loved watching the Olympics on TV and this will be the only chance in my lifetime that I will get to see it live, so there is no way I can pass that up.

Now while I'd love to see the Athletics, Swimming, Cycling and all the other big ticket events, I will be just as happy if I only end up seeing those sports that you only hear of once every four years - Handball, Taekwondo, Weightlifting, Fencing, Modern Pentathlon etc. That for me is what makes an Olympic year and I want to be front row at all of them!

I got to see the Stadium last week when I was doing a transfer to Royal London Hospital, it looks amazing from a distance. I told my crew mate I want to see it closer next time & might divert on the way back as they seem to leave us alone in London

Its going to be an amazing atmosphere, I remember when we held the prologue to the Tour de France a couple of years back & it was great even though I was in a small town it was passing
