Olympic Eating With Team GB ** COMPLETED - WDW & DCL**

Hi Linda,
Mickeys BarBQue looks like a lot of fun!! My DD, DGD (9) and I might have to try it next year. We don't eat any meat, and my DGD and I don't like salmon, so did they mention any other choices for vegetarians? I'm sure we would have plenty to eat with the side dishes. Thanks for all your
reviews. I really enjoyed reading them!!
Joan

Thanks for your lovely comments :)
The chef did say he could do an entirely vegetarian meal
He offered to make me a pasta dish or some marinated grilled vegetables
I think that you could make a great meal out of the pasta and the side dishes from the buffet :)

Linda can I say that your reviews are wonderful and you always make everyone so welcome on your thread, sharing your reviews and replying to everyone who posts - you should go on holiday more often so that we can enjoy! :goodvibes

Well said, I couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2

"And so the end is near ........and I face my final danish ........."

Yes it’s the sad day when you wake up and face the grim reality that you will soon be flying back to the real world :sad1:

A world where cupcakes are not the size of your head and giant mice running towards you cause an all together different reaction :scared1:

Oh it’s depressing just thinking about it .... let’s cheer ourselves up with sugar ;)

Mmmm, what better way than to kick off your final day than with another visit to the Main Street Bakery

Just love sitting out here in the morning :cloud9:

Here is a close up of today’s little delight ....

Cheese Danish

Seriously, hands down the best pastry I think I have ever had at WDW :worship:

This was yum-tastic (I am allowed to make up words on my last review )

If I had tried this beauty earlier in the trip I would have probably insisted we visit MK every single day just so I could have one for breakfast

It blew the cinnamon roll I had tried earlier in the week out of the water (can you tell I enjoyed this??)

It was so fresh I nearly had to slap it :lmao:

DH went for his old favorite

Blueberry Muffin

Mmm, looks a little odd doesn’t it, but DH decided it had "character" and yet again it was a huge success.

Fresh, fluffy and blue-berry-licious (yeah another made up word!!)

We spent the morning revisiting our favorite attractions and generally enjoying our final day until we found ourselves in Liberty Square around lunch time

Hoorah, that means I get to go to Columbia Harbour House for my final Disney meal of the trip :thumbsup2

DH decided he would grab something later when we got to the airport, he said it would make the waiting around go quicker but I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to indulge in more Disney food

Lighthouse Sandwich - hummus with tomato & broccoli slaw on toasted multigrain bread

I loved this sandwich when I tried it on our last trip and I loved it just as much this time round.

The coleslaw adds a nice sweetness to the hummus and I love the toasted multi-grain bread

So cool to sit upstairs and watch the world go by down below :cloud9:

Right, one final snack before I head back to rainy London and you can escape from my evil foodie clutches :stir:

Let’s end on a high note my friends .....

Dole Whip Swirl

A nice full stop to a wonderful vacation don’t you think?

Fin :cool2:

So, so sad it's over Linda. Still groaning over the title of your final update though  I am intrigued by the cheese danish - I take it that the 'cheese' is cream cheese of some kind, is it? I tend to stick to apple ;)

That is some strange kind of growth your hubby has on his cupcake. He really ought to see somebody about that

You certainly know how to end a trip on a high - Columbia Harbour House  I love how 'Harbour' is spelt the English way ;) Are you going to do a food review of your Route 66 (Man v Food/Diners, Drive Ins & Dives/Best Thing I Ever Ate) tour (even if you post it on the UK boards if you don't think it's appropriate for here)

Hey there Mrs :goodvibes
The cheese danish was AMAZING!
Do you like cream cheese?, it's a little like that, kind of like a cheesecake flavor (sorry flavour, you're British )
I hadn't even thought of reviewing our road trip ..... Mmm there's a thought

Nooo, it cant be over. Tell me I havent abandoned my car to the floods for this to be the end......

An hour and 15 minutes to do 4 miles! Hailstones the size of tennis balls. Local school now only two storeys high not three. And my other half who didnt have any rain at his side of the County - his face when he got here was a picture. All safe now - but have you seen the Metro Centre

It was so fresh I nearly had to slap it :lmao:

I was feeling pretty sad as I read your last review, and then I came to this line. Sooooo funny!!! I love your sense of humor! :rotfl: Your final installment was a great one; you definitely sprinted across the finish line. (Do you like that running analogy? ;))

And congratulations on completing another FANTASTIC and YUM-TASTIC (I like your new word :)) dining report! :worship: How long will we have to wait until your next one? :worried: Hope it's not too long before you see the mouse again...the two-legged one, that is. :thumbsup2

Oh, and by the way, I think maybe your DH's muffin was trying to grow Mickey ears??? But I guess now we will never know for sure. :lmao:

It's over? But I just got here!:confused3

Loved your reviews as ever Linda - we also like to got to CHH as our last meal!

I am intrigued by the cheese danish - it gets such good reviews. So it's sweet? Like a cheesecake? Might have to try it.....

Ahhhhh Linda.... here's my sad face :sad1: since your review is over. I'm going to be watching and waiting for your next trip so I can celebrate another WDW dining experience with you. let us know if you decide to do your road trip review or even your Fantasy dining review.... would love to hear more.

No, another review is over. :sad2: It was great as usual, full of fun commentary and beautiful pics. And at least you ended the review on a high note - I could happily devour everything in your last review.

Great review, Linda! (as always ;))

I too am one of those who is interested in your road trip review and maybe a Fantasy food review :rolleyes1
Could you please post here when you start your new thread - I do NOT want to miss it/them!!!!!!

Thanks again, Linda! I really enjoyed vacationing with you!

Aw so sad its over... those Cheese Danishes are sent straight from heaven, I swear!! Looking forward to your next one :)

What a great finish. We never seem to have time to go into a park on the last day :sad1: so it must be nice to end your holiday with one last visit. I think I would be clock watching too much :scared1:

Sam, we never used to go to a park on our last day either. Always went to DTD for the day, then spent the last couple of hours bored and ended up at the airport too early and bored. Now we always go to a park on our last day. We do online check-in or DTD check-in, get rid of our bags, then head to a park (usually DHS), stay till early afternoon, then have a late lunch at Friendlys before heading to the airport. We always book the latest possible flight home (usually about 8.30) so don't need to be at the airport until 6ish that way. It's a great way to enjoy the last day :thumbsup2
