Clearly, Mr. Olszewski did not coordinate his signing event with the DIS as his next WDW piece - Main Street Station - will be released the week before DAP weekend

Here is the link to information for the event and pictures of the piece!

I guess I will be taking a few moments away from DAP weekend to go over to the Art of Disney to buy one of these.

Mike according to the link you can pre-order the piece and Mr. Olszewski will sign it for you and they will deliver it to your home.

Yes, but we will be there just the following week, so I can pick it up personally and save the shipping costs. I also like to make sure that Bob's signature is on the piece as well as having the first day release plaque. With the $345.00 price tag, I truly doubt this will sell out in a week, although it is a stunning piece.

DH and I are big Robert Olszewski fans and have the DL Main Street collection plus some of the DL attractions. We were fortunate enough to meet him at DL five years ago and he signed a couple of our pieces. He's a wonderful man and enjoys talking to the guests. :)

I was at WDW this weekend and was finally able to purchase this AMAZING piece.

First of all, let me say that the piece is HUGE! It's about 13"x13" and will not fit in the display case I currently have for the Olszewski pieces. The details, as in all the other pieces are amazing. I even used the macro feature on my camera to be able to magnify some.

I went to the Art of Disney Store in Downtown Disney on Friday night to purchase the piece. I was shocked when the cast member told me that the only piece they had left was the one on display - which was not signed. I asked the cast member if she could call the Magic Kingdom and see if they had a signed piece, which she did. When I asked her about the first day plaque - she looked at me like I was from Mars as she had never seen a First Day plaque. She called the other store, who told her that they were sold out! It seemed inconceivable to me that they were sold out of $345.00 pieces in less than a week in this economy. Something wasn't kosher. I asked if they could "hold" the piece for me for 24 hours, which they did.

The next day, Saturday, I went to the Magic Kingdom. The Olszewski pieces are now being displayed in a side case at Uptown Jewelers. I really wish they would display the whole layout instead of piece by piece. I asked a cast member there if they had any signed pieces and indeed they did. Why did the cast member at Downtown Disney tell me they were sold out? When the cast member at MK brought the huge box up, I inspected it. The tiny Olszewski signature and premier plaque were there. YES! I was also very happy to get a 10% Passholder discount.

I then sent an email to the Olszewski studios asking about future pieces and this was Ray's reply:

Mike: Thank you for your email! The following are planned releases for the WDW Main Street Collection for 2010.

How exciting is that!

I looked at some of the piece yesterday at the MK and they are amazing!

I am glad you got the one you want. :thumbsup2 I had a couple of experiences this weekend were the CM was not exactly informed of the merchandise they were selling.

Did I get to meet you at DAP? I think I missed you!

When looking at the Train Station piece one of the CMs at Art of Disney said "How nice ... I've never seen those before" :scared1:

Yeah, I missed a lot of people. I had my husband, son, and mother in law with me. I wanted you to meet my mother in law since you live so close to each other.

It is crazy the lack of knowledge of the items for sale. If they are selling something for $350 the people selling it should know about it you would think.
