Today when I was cleaning out my pantry I found a soup cookbook from Olivia's. It says 1996 on it. We've been members since 1991 but I honestly don't remember getting it! I was able to make the meatball and pasta soup and it turned out great. It was so nice to have a little taste of "home" on a cool fall day. :)

Wow, what a great find! There is a thread on the food and Restarant board that, is a collection of Disney recipes over 1800, I'm sure they would love some golden oldies that are no longer available.

OKW is my favorite resort! We enjoyed Olivia's so many times over the years! I collect cookbooks, how fun to have an OKW cookbook, dedicated to soup!

I have this cookbook, too. We joined in 1996 - not sure when we received the cookbook though. I have used it many times over the years - there are some good recipes in there!

Anyway you could post a pic, or publisher info? Would love to try to track this down.:)

I have this too! I joined in 1994 and remember being excited to get this. They used to serve B.L.T soup at Olivia's and the recipe is in this cookbook. On a cold day like today, I think I will seriously consider making one of these soups.

I have this book also, we have been members since 1992. I wish Olivia's still had the BLT soup it was my favorite. Made it once from the cookbook it was good, but not the same as having it there..lol..

I also remember when Olivia's had their own pastry chef and had different "home made" special desserts every day. Their strawberry shortcake, using a biscuit style shortcake, was the best I've ever had.

Today is another good soup day here, especially now that this thread popped back up. :)

Like a pp said, it's just soup. Fried chicken and strawberry shortcake would surely be amazing!!

I am not sure how to post a picture. If you pm me your phone number, I would be happy to text a picture! The recipe book is light pink and says Disneys Old Key West Resort
Soup Recipes From
Olivia's Kitchen
It says copyright 1996 by Walt Disney Worlds Old Key West Resort on the first page. After that is the table of contents, no other publisher information.

I PM'd you, thanks! I'll take the soup recipes, but yes the comfort foods... Do have a few of the old recipes would say the oldies were some of the best.
Does anyone remember there shrimp, artichoke dip that was served with tomato basil chips? The chips were made from tomato basil 'wraps' that were baked crispy and cut into tortilla shaped chips. That was one I loved, my dd grew up to love. It was served lunch and dinner. Great app! Have the recipe from one of their specials served one night. Filet mignon with maytag blue mashed.
Now I'm really hungry......

Is the buttermilk fried chicken recipe in the book?

Laura

There is a thread and due to my lack of computer skills:confused3 I can't post the link.... It is on the restaurant board and has over 1800 Disney recipes, it is dedicated to sharing recipes new and old. A few from Olivia's they may have it on there. It is a reminder to try to get recipes, when we can. So many of the old ones are long gone as they came up with new menus and chefs have moved on:rolleyes2.
