Olivia's or Via Napoli?

I know many of your initial reactions might be "Is she really comparing these two?" or perhaps "Is this even a question?" to which I would say no, and yes it is.

Here's the situation: I've eaten at Via Napoli once before, and will be eating there again in July with my friend. The trip I am asking the question about is in August with my parents and sister. I LOVE Via Napoli, and none of them have ever eaten there. None of us have ever eaten dinner at Olivia's either. The menu at Olivia's sounds more appealing to my parents because we can get really good Italian food at home. However, it is the atmosphere and service that really is what I love the most Via Napoli. I don't mind going to Olivia's, but I would love to take them to VN as well. Any personal opinions, experiences, reviews or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot! :goodvibes

If you love VN, then I would take them there.

I've eaten at both and the cuisine is very different. Olivia's more "home style" cooking (not quite to the degree that Prime Time is, but similar) - it's the kind of food you'd expect if you're going to a local cafe/diner. The ambiance wasn't really anything exciting and the food was okay. Most of the items I had (crab cakes, prime rib) were things that I could cook at home. It fell into the "glad we tried it one, but we wouldn't make a point of going there again" category.

VN, on the other hand, is somewhere we go on every trip. I like the pizzas and pasta they serve there. At watching the food fire ovens is always fun.

If you're worried about the Italian food repetition/comparison from home, is there anywhere else in WS that sounds good for your parents?

Thanks for the advice! We actually do have ADR's for a few of the other WS restaurants, as it is our favorite place to have meals. They are San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo and Le Cellier. (the overall family fave) we actually decided, after looking at both menus and debating our other options, to go an entirely different way. Instead of Olivia's, which we all agreed was nothing overly exciting or too out of the ordinary, or Via Napoli, which I will be going to just a month earlier, to book a dinner at the Crystal Palace! We were planning on being at the Magic Kingdom on that night anyhow, so it makes sense to just eat there as well! Although I have been there multiple times and LOVE it, my parents and sister have never been. My sister's favorite characters are the Winnie the Pooh gang, and the buffet selections sounded appealing to everyone, so we decided on going there.

I got an ADR there for the exact time I wanted and we're all set to go! Thanks so much for all the help! I'll keep it in mind for the future! :goodvibes
