Olivia's 3rd Birthday Extravaganza! DDxP,BBB and PP!Oh my! Our 12/10 TR! **Finished**

By 2:00 we were getting off the monorail at Epcot with one goal in mind: MEET BEAST! We had missed him on all of our other Epcot days, and we were determined to meet him today!

We headed into Epcot and made our way right to France. When we arrived at the M&G location and it was the same CM who had been there the 3 other times we had been! She even remembered us! Luckily we were first in line for Beast! The bad news is that it was a 35 minute wait! This would be our longest wait of the week! While we waited, I went and grabbed a couple of drinks and 2 tubs of popcorn with our snack credits. So we just relaxed, snacked and people watched until it was time for Beast!

Finally it was time!!!

I think Olivia was in shock over how big Beast was!

After a few seconds Livy got over it and was being quite the little chatterbox! I finally had to pull her away from Beast, but not before one last big hug!

Next up, we made our way towards Italy and the Kidcot stop. I had never really been in Italy before, so while Toby and Olivia were coloring, I went exploring. Unfortunately I forgot my camera with Toby, and I didn't feel like walking back to get it...lazy I know! After my exploring, I headed back to my two favorite people, just in time to catch the show the mime puts on! It was really neat and Olivia LOVED it! When the show ended, we headed out of Italy because I was in search of more PP pics! We got a couple near the beautiful tree in America and then a couple more with SSE in the background.

After our pictures were done, we started heading towards Japan for our 4:40 dinner ADR at Teppan Edo! We got there at 4:20 and checked in. I barely had time to take Olivia to the bathroom before they were calling us to be seated at 4:25!

Up next: How did we like our Japanese dinner?

Ok, my loyal readers (that I still have left!), I need title ideas for my year long TR that I am going to be starting as soon as I FINALLY finish this one! I am open to anything!!!

OK lady! You need to slow down... you are making me look bad! :lmao:

Sounds like you are had an awesome time! Can't wait to hear how Teppan Edo was. We have ADRs there but at the last minute I changed things.

Definitely not making you look bad!!!! I just figured that if I didn't pick up the pace I would end up about 2 years behind on my year long TR! Since it's already May and we have already done 7 days at WDW this year, with more to come in the next month, I need to get on the ball!

Teppan Edo should be up either later tonight after I work at church or tomorrow morning!

*WARNING: ANOTHER PICTURE HEAVY UPDATE!!*

LOL ... you say that like it is a BAD thing. We all love photo heavy trip reports. Wehn I saw on facebook that you had updated, I had to come over and see :) I soo enjoyed your report and I'm looking forward to reading your year of Disney TR !!

WOW ALL OF THE UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed Teppan Edo! It's one of our fav meals and even though we go to Hibachi places in the area here, the show is never as great as Teppan Edo and sometimes the food is way better at Teppan Edo too!!!

I did not get the birthday pic! I should have done my research on that one lol.

I'll think of some year long titles but I'm not very good at it!! haha how bout "If you can dream it, you can do it, ALL YEAR LONG!!"

Yay for bunches of reading! Love all the updating. :thumbsup2

Ohana looks great. I hope to keep an ADR there eventually. We'll probably stick with a breakfast. Being in a resort, it's too easy for me to push it off to "when we don't have APs anymore" and try then. :rotfl: I've been doing it for almost two years now! Someday.. Love all your silly entertaining pics at dinner. We do the same thing!

I know we didn't cross that morning. You were on a different side of the park and came in later. Nifty that we were both at MK though! Looks like you all had bunches of fun. The balloon pics are adorable!

Good luck with your title! I know I'd be no help. Titles are the WORST part of doing a TR for me! I had a few others in mind for my year long TR, but I can't remember a one of them now. Have fun deciding!

After quickly being called, we made our way to our table and we got lucky and were at the end! Once drink orders were taken (the usual), we waited for the show to start. *Let me say right away, this was a weird meal! Nobody at the table talked to anyone else! There were 3 different groups at our table and everyone just kept to themselves...it was almost uncomfortable!* Now, back to the meal! Since we were the only ones on the DxDP we ordered appetizers. Toby got the Tuna Sensation which was sashimi grade raw tuna and avocado cubes served with a sesame-saki-soy dressing, and I was boring and got the house salad. Well, I really wasn't boring, Olivia loves salad so I ordered that knowing she would eat some as well.

467.jpg

466.jpg

We all really enjoyed our appetizers and there was nothing left of either of them!

Before the "show" started Olivia was getting a bit bored...

465.jpg

Soon enough it was time to order our entrees. Toby chose the Asakusa (sirloin steak and large shrimp) and I picked the Ueno (chicken breast and large shrimp).

This is where my pictures of this meal end!!! Shocking I know! I'm not sure why I have no more, but I don't! I do know that all of the food was delicious!!! Once again we cleared our plates! Olivia loved the chicken, rice and veggies.

After our bellies were full, it was time to order dessert. I chose the chocolate ginger cake, and Toby was boring and picked plain old chocolate ice cream. Of course Olivia got a dish of birthday ice cream, so she was happy! Olivia also got another birthday surprise!

468.jpg

She loved that silly hat that was WAY too big for her little head! We actually still have it and it is in her play kitchen.

After we paid the bill, $91.92 + $18.00 tip it was time to put our coats back on and head back out into WS!

Overall thoughts: I did like Teppan Edo, but I think I would skip it next time. Although the food was good, I feel like we get more food and a better show at our local hibachi restaurants. Also, for those of you who might not like tight spaces and crowds I might avoid this one. There are 4 tables of 8 people in each room and not a whole lot of room to move around. Overall, we liked it, but will skip TE for another WS restaurant next time!

Up next: Finishing up our World Showcase adventure!

Love Ohana! I have to agree though, it is hit or miss on the meat, i've had it really dry before too. But I really go because I love the pot stickers (I can make a meal of just those!), the noodles and of course the dessert. I think it is one of the best on property!

so funny- i think that same night we were on the monorail and heard about the medical emergency too. I think we were taking it around to the MK that night late or something. we got on and there was a CM off duty, who was complaining about it stopping and hoping it wouldn't stop for long this time, how they had a medical emergency just on the last leg that held them up for like 30 minutes or more or something.

i love all the crazy face pics! ;)

too funny- all 3 meals you have posted we are doing in October- Ohana dinner, Ohana breakfast and Teppan Edo. Ohana and TE are going to be firsts for us, so i enjoyed hearing your experience. I can't wait for Ohana breakfast! it looks amazing. but i am with you, i am not a big fan of that juice they serve at Boma that everyone loves, i assume this is similar?

i love the balloon shot- that is going on my must do list!

I'm glad you don't mind pictures!!! I have to say, the few updates I'm going to post today, are really lacking in pics! I don't know why, but I just didn't take many pictures during this time frame! I'm glad you are looking forward to the year long TR...it should be interesting to say the least!

LOL! I'm really trying to finish this up! You have pretty much done 2 TRs in the time it has taken me to do 1!!!

The Teppan Edo update is up now.....

I really did research all of the magic shots before we left-I really wanted to get my money's worth from the PP CD! I loved the balloons pic, and the birthday border just worked so well with it!

You really should keep an Ohana ADR! We really liked both meals and want to go back! My goal for the December trip was to try as many different restaurants as possible (with a couple of our favorites thrown in). My goal at some point is to eat at all the different restaurants and stay at each resort at least one night! We are definitely doing better on the dining end of that goal! We have only stayed at POP, POR, SSR, AKL, CSR and CR!

Titles definitely are the worst part about a TR! I always have the toughest time thinking of something! I don't want it to be too long, because I like to have room to add when I have updated! I think I have one though...but I'm still not sure if I like it!

Yummy! Potstickers!!!! I love them!!! I may or may not have eaten close to my weight in them!!! The chicken wings were pretty high on my list as well! I was so full by the time dessert came, I had maybe 3 bites! Toby certainly enjoyed it though!

The darn monorail was certainly our enemy on this trip! We always run into a delay here or there, but this trip was nuts! I was thinking how upset I would have been staying at a monorail resort for the convenience, only to have so many delays!

The juice is the same as Boma (and Tusker House breakfast as well). I just didn't like it at all! Glad I'm not the only one! I had my trusty Diet Coke instead!

After dinner and a quick potty stop, we headed back out into WS so we could finish up the last couple of countries on our list.

*I will warn you...I only have ONE picture from the rest of this night!!! I don't know what was wrong with me!!!*

Our first stop was Germany. The new caramel shop was giving passholders a free bag of caramel corn and boy was it a ZOO in there! Wall to wall people! I told Toby to save himself and Olivia and get out of there! He and Livy went to explore the shop right next door while I waited for my sample. After about 10 minutes it was my turn and I had my free bag of yummy-ness! I wandered next door to find the rest of my family, only to see this:

469.jpg

Yep, that was my lovely hubby! The most shocking thing was that he actually let me take the picture! After he had his adornments off, we made our way to the Kidcot stop so Olivia could work on Duffy.

As we left Germany, we made our way to China, and looked around for a bit and let Olivia's creative juices flow (let me just say, I am totally shocked that with all the clothing Olivia was wearing all week, that not one speck of Sharpie ended up on anything)!

After playing with some puppets in China we headed to Norway. I have always loved the boat ride here! For some reason, this was the first time Olivia had been on it! I don't know how she had been on the ride in Mexico countless times, but never on Norway!? About 2 minutes after boarding, Olivia loudly announces that she has to go potty. NOW! Well, I knew there was no way we were going to make it off, so I just mentally prepared for the accident. Let me just say, she tried REALLY hard to hold it! We literally ran off the ride to the bathroom, but we were a little too late. She wasn't soaked or anything, but definitely needed a dry set of clothes. She kept apologizing, and I kept saying it was ok. After getting cleaned up, we headed back out to explore the Norway pavilion. There is just so much neat stuff to look at here! Olivia loved the Kidcot stop, and we literally had to tear her away with the promise of moving on to Mexico and another ride and Kidcot stop!

In Mexico we did the usual, the boat ride and the final Kidcot stop of WS. We only ended up spending about 2 minutes at the Kidcot stop because the CMs working it were very rude! The table was totally full...of what appeared to be the CMs friends and they were just chatting up a storm. When Olivia brought here passport and Duffy to get stamped they just kept chatting and ignored her. Finally, Toby took them and pretty much just shoved them in front of the CMs and the grabbed them to stamp like we were some huge inconvenience! Then they went back to chatting and would not make room for Olivia to squeeze in the table to color her last tiny bit of white that was showing on Duffy. At that point we decided to cut our losses and just left.

By the time we made it to the front of the park and the buses it was 8:00 and we were TIRED! A bus came pretty quickly and by 8:30 we were back in our room at POP.

I got Livy ready for bed and sent Toby down to fill our mugs. Livy snacked on some fruit snacks and yogurt and at 9:30 we all watched the Epcot fireworks from the comfort of our warm hotel room! It was the perfect ending to our last night in The World!

Olivia was asleep before 10:00 and I went down for one last mug refill some snacks for Toby (2 orders of cheese fries using up 2 more snack credits). After some packing, I hit the sack by 11:00.

Up next: Our last time waking up at WDW in 2010

The picture of Olivia in her chef's hat is adorable, she is such a photogenic little girl

Teppan Edo has been on my list of restaurants to try, but I think we would rather wait to be there with friends or family to avoid sitting with people that we wouldn't know

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

I've always wanted to try Teppan Edo, I probably still will cause I think the girls will like it.

It's always so sad when you know it's almost over :sad2:

More updates!!! Sorry you weren't thrilled with Teppan Edo :( We go to Benihana here and have gone to Fuji House too and think their table seatings are way tighter than at Teppan Edo. It's very odd when people don't talk. When my dad and I went in Dec, we were with 4 different groups and no one talked and that was very odd for hibachi! The last time we went to Benihana, the family sitting with us talked away and we knew their life story by the end of the meal haha.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm in the process of planning a couple day trip for August when you guys are here! I'm basing my dates off of when the MMC party usually is, so they better not change dates this year!

This excites me so much....but apparently I can't tell anyone :ssst: :rotfl2:

Why do you warn people about pics? What kind of psycho doesn't like pics???

Love the back to back 'Ohana. We still haven't done breakfast. And by "we" I mean Randy and I. Ash got to do it during her Feb trip without us. She's been raving about it since.

BTW another thing we have in common...I only eat the shrimp at 'Ohana too!

I'm so glad Livy likes pictures now! When she was younger it was torture to get a single shot of her just looking at the camera since she would turn away as soon as she saw one pointed at her!

I've always wanted to try Teppan Edo, I probably still will cause I think the girls will like it.

It's always so sad when you know it's almost over :sad2:

I bet the girls would love it! Olivia really liked it! It was by no means a bad meal or experience, I guess I just have been spoiled by the hibachi places around here!

How funny that your local places have tighter seating that TE, but mine (Joto's and DaRuma) are much more spacious! It just seemed really tight at TE to me! Our chairs kept getting bumped and when I had to take Livy potty it was a tight squeeze. It was really weird with nobody talking to anyone else! You should have seen the look on the other people's face when we came in since Olivia was the only child! I think they must have thought she was going to be a terror or something!

This excites me so much....but apparently I can't tell anyone :ssst: :rotfl2:

LOL! I just didn't want my whereabouts to get out too early....got to keep all my adoring fans guessing for a bit right? :rotfl: I am really excited as well though! I just wish you guys could sneak us in to SAB while we are there!!! LOL!

I don't know who wouldn't like pics...but I like to cover all my bases just to be safe!

I'm drooling over Ohana now! I really, really loved the breakfast!!! I want to do it again ASAP! And...yummy SHRIMP! I am a total seafood girl! Cape May for dinner is at the top of my must try list as well!

Seafood and Diet Coke...what else do you need in life?

I gave up Diet Coke for Lent and I've only had a few since Easter. I think I've lost the taste for it :scared1::scared1::scared1: But don't worry...I will be drinking plenty at WDW. Bottled water gets boring ;) :rotfl:

Day 6, Friday December 10, 2010....Our last day :guilty:

This was it. Our final day at WDW for 2010. We actually got to sleep in a bit and crawled out of bed around 8:00 or so. Well, I actually got out of bed to finish packing, while Toby and Olivia curled up and watched TV. In the middle of packing I realized that our bill had arrived. I opened it up and was shocked! I knew we had charged a few of our purchases to the room, but I had been keeping pretty close tabs on those things, and the bill was about $50 too much! After looking closer, I realized that they had charged us for the fridge, even though it was for medical reasons. I quickly called down to the front desk and got it taken care of right away.

Once that was all straightened out, it was time to get Olivia ready and finish up our packing. By 8:55 we were heading to the car to load it up and saying goodbye to POP and heading to the Contemporary for our breakfast with Mickey!

We had 9:55 ADRs and arrived around 9:30. We stopped at the gate and told the guard we had reservations and he asked if we would be visiting MK after we ate. We didn't have plans to, so we told him that, and he said we should since we had such a good parking spot and it was just a quick walk over! I thought they were pretty strict about parking at monorail resorts?

We checked in at CM around 9:45 and were seated right away. We always seem to sit in one of two tables when we eat here (this was our 7th meal here), and of course we sat at one of those tables again! We were right behind the buffet so we quickly started to make trips for food. I grabbed Olivia and myself some food while Toby waited. Here is what we started with:

Quickly enough the characters started!

Before the main mouse could pay us a visit it was time for napkin twirling and dancing! Minnie grabbed Olivia's hand and they got to dance together!

490.jpg

As Olivia was sitting back down, guess what arrived...

491.jpg

What a shock! Another cupcake! After the cupcake, Mickey paid us a visit!

493.jpg

What would a meal be without more silly pictures?

Pretty soon the bill came ($56.70 and we tipped $11), and then it was time to head out.
