Olivia's 3rd Birthday Extravaganza! DDxP,BBB and PP!Oh my! Our 12/10 TR! **Finished**

Well, (my FB friends already saw this), it looks like the PIN code wasn't great for us at all! It was 40% off deluxe and 35% of mod and value...but the dates were all peak season dates! It would still be cheaper for us to go in value or regular season and use the AP discount instead...Oh well. Hopefully Toby can get off work next month and my ticker will stay!!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I literally JUST put up a ticker, went to check my email and....THERE WAS A PIN CODE!!!!!!!!!! Now, I have to do some thinking since the PIN doesn't include the dates I just picked..... Oh yeah, it came to my current email address, but with my maiden name and OLD address...:confused3

Congrats on the PIN Code...Hope it works out for you!

I wish I was close enough to be able to have a "quick getaway!" I think my family would be there all the time!

The pin didn't end up working, but that's ok!

We do go pretty often, usually about once a month! We actually got our passes kind of on accident. When we took our 9/09 trip we had 4 day hoppers and they actually ended up costing more than Fl resident seasonal passes, so we upgraded our tickets at the end of that trip (at the time when you got a new pass they were good for 15 months), and the lady that did the upgrade actually REFUNDED us about $60! It was so wonderful! Our passes just expired at the end of December, but we are getting new ones when we go next month!

How cool is that?

I know for sure if I lived as close as you - my family would definitely have annual passes.

We live in Northern Ohio and have season passes to Cedar Point up here. We definitely get our use out of them!

**WARNING: THIS WILL BE A PHOTO HEAVY UPDATE!**

When I last left off, it was 8:45 and we had just gotten back on the dreaded monorail and were hoping we would get to MK quickly! While it wasn't supersonic speed or anything, we were walking in the MK turnstiles at 9:00 on the dot!

Of course the first thing we had to do was get some PP pics.

After we made our way down Main Street, we made a left into Adventureland! We were still good on time, so I figured we could at least get in a ride or two. Olivia really wanted to go on "Pirates of the Beegin" so that is right where we headed!

There was no wait so we walked right on! Yeah! Olivia has always loved this ride. Her favorite part is the "big drop" as she calls it! She puts her hands up and shouts weeeee on the way down! Have I mentioned how much I am looking forward to her hitting the magical 40 inches? Well, I CAN'T WAIT FOR HER TO HIT THE MAGICAL 40 INCHES!!!!!

After the ride and some sword fighting with Daddy in the gift shop, we made our way towards Olivia's Castle (what, you thought it was Cinderella Castle....nope. It's Olivia's Castle! If you don't believe me just ask her!). We stopped in front of her castle for one last "before" picture:

We checked in to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at 9:45 and we were told to go back and change Olivia in dressing room. So that is just what we did! I was kind of upset that it was so cold because I had to keep the turtleneck on under her dress.
Waiting to be called back:

Princess Olivia was called back at 10:00 (only 5 minutes after our actual appointment time). Our Fairy Godmother in Training (FGIT) was Jean. She looked to be the grandmotherly type, so I was excited!

Olivia was seated and the picture taking began immediately! I was manning the camera, and Toby was in charge of the video camera. I was a little unsure of how still Olivia would sit, but she was a champ! There were points where you would have thought she was a statue she was so still! I told our FGIT that I would like Olivia to have the Fairy-tale princess style and started on it right away.

I tried to make conversation with Jean, but despite her kind, grandmotherly appearance, she was not! I was devastated! All of her answers were one or two words, and she seemed like she would rather be any where else! It was like trying to talk to a drill sergeant or something! My only saving grace was that Olivia didn't know the difference! When it came time to pick a crown color she said" Pink, blue or white. What do you want?" She said it so quickly I could barely understand her, and poor Olivia had the most confused look on her face! I then (nicely) asked Olivia if she wanted a pink, blue or white crown, and she picked pink-no shock there! She is a pink girl for sure!

Here are more pics from about the middle of the process or so

My first thought after the crown was in and the bun was done, was "good lord, that bun is HUGE on her little head"....(see the picture above). In all the little girls I had seen with their hair done in this style, I had never seen a bun that big!

After her hair was pretty much done, it was time to move on to hair and make-up! Olivia had been looking forward to being allowed to wear real make-up (as opposed to the pretend make-up that came with her princess dress up kit). The FGIT's exact words to her were "pick out two colors that coordinate". Yep, pick two colors that coordinate....to a 3 year old!!! Poor Olivia once again had a confused look on her face so I told her to pick her two favorite colors. She chose a light pink and a light blue, and then a light pink lipstick. For her nail polish she of course chose the pink instead of the blue. Then the fun started

**MORE PICTURE OVERLOAD TO FOLLOW**

Finally it was time for our Princess to see herself!!! I was SOOO excited at this point! How would she react?

Photo0164FourBySix.jpg

Yep, that was her "big" reaction!!! I think she was just in shock at first, because the next few she had smile!

After we were done we tried to thank our FGIT (who was cleaning up her station and ignoring us), and went up front and paid, and we were out the door by 10:35. Our next stop was the Castle Couture shop right next door so we could do the photo shoot before Olivia managed to make a mess on herself!

We had a couple of minutes to kill while the family in front of us finished up and I ended up getting a couple of my favorite pictures of the trip

Soon enough it was time for Princess Olivia's photo session. The photographer, Jason was AMAZING! He took tons of time with Olivia and did tons of poses and really tried to make sure we got some great pics! This was an awesome experience!!!

Of course they all didn't come out so well...but I won't dare post those here!

Overall, the BBB was awesome! Olivia loved every single second of it, and really thought she was a princess. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Even though our FGIT was less that wonderful, Olivia didn't know better, so Toby and I were the ones upset by that and not her (thankfully). Just keep in mind how huge the bun was....it will come in to play later.

Up next: What can we squeeze in before lunch?

Great update! The updates with picture overload are the best ones! :) That bun was huge!

Thanks! I'm glad at least one person doesn't mind the picture overload (even though my pictures are HUGE)! I had honestly never seen a bun that big on a girl who had been to the boutique! :scared1: It's not like Olivia has overly thick hair either, as a matter of fact, her hair is still baby fine!

Awwwww.....love those pictures of Olivia. My Olivia (even at 12) wants to do this on our May trip. I think my 3 yr old, Alexa, would love it too. We may just have to book a couple of sessions!

Great BBB pics, Olivia looks so pretty! Ugh that FGIT sounds terrible though...if I get to fulfill my dream of moving to Florida and working in Disney, I want to work in BBB, that must be the best place to work ever! :lovestruc Her bun was gigantic!!! And I can't believe the FGIT said for her to pick out colors that coordinate...really? :sad2:

Can't wait to see what's next!

Aww..sorry to hear that the BBB was not so magical! I should have given you some names of girls that you could have asked for. I have no clue who that FGIT was. She was not working there as of last time I did which was May 2009. She had a pin on her name tag which means she's been there for a while but not at BBB...she probably transferred from another dept.

The bun was pretty big but given her age and if she has a ton of hair, it will be big. The smaller the bun = more pulling, pins and it will hurt!..so it might be because she knew her age, she didn't want her to endure the pain that others have to haha!!

If you decide to do it another time, let me know and I'll try and give you some names or you can ask the manager to have a trainer do her hair, they are of course the best of the best in terms of FGIT and will interact more!

I hope her hair didn't fall out of the bun because I would have 100% went back and had them redo it!! (we used to get that all the time!) Glad to see she enjoyed it though!!

Olivia looks beautiful. Can't get over how long that one piece of hair is sticking up. Sure do wish they had that around when mine was little. Although at 23 she probably would do it. Great pictures.

What a princess! princess: The pictures of her laughing were so cute, I'm glad you had a great photographer. The "pick colours that co-ordinate" lady however.... :sad2:

Oh I am so sorry that your FGIT wasn't very magical. Seriously, WDW really needs to re-think some of them. The whole point is that they are supposed to be magical.

She looks so cute though :) Love the pic of her kissing daddy! I never let Randy in BBB...that's girl time for Ash and I ;)

Love your hoodie. Very cute!!!

I say definitely book the sessions! It was such a magical experience! I think we might make it a birthday tradition, as long as Olivia still wants to do it!

Thank you! I was hoping I wouldn't lose readers with all the pictures I posted! The FGIT definitely was not magical! Just let me know when you become a FGIT and I will bring Olivia to you!! Yeah, coordinating colors...I still have to laugh at that one!

Thanks for your insight! I knew I could count on you! I was waiting to get your opinion! I will just say that yes the bun ended up being an issue later on. Olivia has pretty long hair, but it is super baby fine, and the FGIT used 2 bobby pins!!! So, in your expert opinion, how long would you give the style before it was no more? I should get to the full explanation of what went on in my next update! I definitely will talk to you before we go again! I'm just glad that Olivia didn't know any better, and didn't understand that her FGIT was less than interactive!

Thank you! We thought she looked pretty great too! It was so hard to see her looking grown up because she will always be my baby! At least in some of the pics from the photo session you can still see some of the baby fat in her cheeks, so she doesn't look to grown up! I have seen adults in the BBB before.....just a thought!....lol

What a princess! princess: The pictures of her laughing were so cute, I'm glad you had a great photographer. The "pick colours that co-ordinate" lady however.... :sad2:

The laughing pics are some of my favorite!!! I giggle every time I look at them. Yep, coordinating colors! The sad thing is that I would have to think really hard about which colors would coordinate since I rarely wear make up!

Love your hoodie. Very cute!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself! At least Olivia didn't notice her lack of personality!

The picture of her kissing Toby is actually hanging up in our bedroom. I have tons of pictures of them kissing on different occasions (starting with her 1st birthday), and they are all up in the room. It is just so cute to see her as a baby kissing him, and then getting older.

Haha! I never thought about not letting Toby in..I just wanted pictures and video and I knew I couldn't do it all myself! Next time however...that is a whole new ballgame!

Would you believe I actually got my hoodie at Wal-Mart? I happened to be walking through with my SIL and there it was! The best part is that it is SUPER soft, and was only $15!

well even if you had a not so friendly FGIT, at least you had a fabulous photographer. Her pics are just so amazing. What a smile. She looks so darn cute- did you cry at all? I would have! :rotfl:

Oh, I definitely cried! I tried really, really hard not to, but I couldn't help it! I had seriously been looking forward to the BBB since the day I found out I was having a girl! Olivia was SO excited about it too! Every single day for about 6 months before the trip she would ask me to turn on BBB videos on the computer (from youtube) so she could see! I think I might have caught a tear forming in Toby's eye as well (just don't tell him I told everyone that)!

That's too bad that you guys received a not so wonderful FGIT....luckily Olivia was too young to notice.

She looks absolutely adorable, and her photoshoot pics are priceless:goodvibes
