The dragon water slide at POFQ - the only possible drawback for us not to stay at POFQ.

:fish: DS will be 18, :fish: DD will be 15. Both like water slides.

Is the dragon water slide too young for them ? :confused3

POFQ food court is fine for a quick meal for us.
Boat to DTD is a plus, so is being the 1st bus stop before PORS.
2 double sinks and refrigerator are great.
Size of the resort is good - not to large to walk around.
Our friends have raved :thumbsup2 about staying here !

We may not be able to do a Deluxe resort next time we go to WDW.
We are looking for the moderate which best suits our family.

Thanks !! :goodvibes

The slide at POFQ is more for little kids. My DS is 11 and it was too small for him. We have stayed at both POR and CSR and he likes the slide at CSR the best.

They will think the slide is, in my kids terms "lame". They thought it was lame when they were under 10. My teens love CSR pool, slide, hot tub, beach volleyball, lake with boat rentals.........

If I had to stay at FQ with teens, I would get the waterpark options and just plan on heading to those for some slide and swim time. And if time is short, I would pop over to POR, the slide is much better there, but still not as good as CSR.

teens are hard to predict.

they may hate it because it is so slow. or they may enjoy it because they get a better of everything.

if you can give up the boat to DTD - you might be better off with CSR.

Has anyone had this happen before? I'm an adult mid-forties. When I stayed at CSR Jan. 07 with my 12 year old son he begged me to go down the slide. I didn't want to but it was just he and I on this trip. He didn't want to go alone and I'm sure he wanted his mom to have fun.

:confused3 I watched as a group of other adults went down. I slowly gained courage to do the slide. (Note: I should have went down when the other adults were going, but I waited too long) and when I went down I was the only adult. When I got to the bottom there was a large man standing right in front of me when I hit the water. Apparently, he was waiting for a child to come down. Although I didn't hit him he really gave me a dirty look as if to say " You're really too big to be doing this". I was slightly embarrassed but the lifeguard looked at me and smiled.

Because of this, I'm not sure if I'll attempt any more pool slides. What's your thoughts.

No way, the CSR slide is for every one. My DH loves to go down the slide. Don't let that one person bother you.

Thanks for the positive responses. I guess I'm a kid at heart and like to have fun.

too young?.... TOO YOUNG?!?

I'm 31 and I rode down that slide at least 10 times as did my DH 39 and my sister in law who's in her late 40's!! :rotfl:

I guess if what you meant was will it be boring then maybe... I mean, I know there are some mean water slides at the Beach Club and Boardwalk right? (I've never been on them myself though)... but yeah... we had fun on the POFQ slide and it wasn't boring to me!! wahoo! :woohoo:

Slides are for everyone and he should have been embarrassed to be in your way.

I think I would have put my legs straight out and :rolleyes1

I think that man stinks. ;) seriously though.. adults are allowed to ride the slides too (I do!) and he should have timed it right or something with his child to make sure he wasn't in YOUR WAY when you came down the slide.

When I was on the slide at POFQ there was a little kid who was probably about 10 who was standing at the end of the slide when the kids would come out and he would pretend like they were going to slide into him and yell and then move out of the way at the last minute.. he was doing this to every kid and I don't think he knew any of them (I have no idea where his parents were)... eventually a few adults came down the slide (including me!) and he just kept standing there near the end of the slide and I almost ran into him.. someone called the lifeguard and they made him move.

slides are for everyone and I understand parents standing there to catch their children on them, but other people want to slide too!

When my kids were younger, we stayed at both PO and POFQ and the kids loved the dragon slide at POFQ. Last summer, we stayed at CSR, because the kids now think the POFQ slide is "way too babyish." They are 11 & 12. They loved the CSR pool & slide, we all loved CSR and I do think they had much more fun at the CSR pool -- and at CSR -- than they would have at POFQ.

Having said that, guests of POFQ can use both the POFQ pool and the PO pool, so your kids would have another pool option if you stay at POFQ.

Don't let one person stop you from having fun i mean who cares about one strangers opinion

keep on sliding;)

I'll toss in with the others. I don't do slides myself (it's not my thing), but, my wife does, and so, I spend time waiting near the bottom of many a slide. I am surprised that the Lifeguard let the man wait at the bottom of the slide. All the lifeguards I have seen make them move off or get out of the pool.

Don't let the rule breaking jerk discourage you from sliding!

The slide at POFQ is slow. Slides at any of the other moderates are better and I like them in this order: CSR, POR. I left out CBR cause I don't know what the new slide will be like :) If you stay at POFQ you can use pool at POR as others have said.

gogo - Anyone waiting to catch a chilkd coming down the slide should be standing to the side, not in front of the slide! Usually the lifeguards ask people to move if they are near the slide exit :confused3 Don't let anyone make you feel funny about going down the slide! I go down all the slides and I'm close to fifty  I plan to keep doing it as long as I can :yay:

Definitely the slide at CSR!!

We stayed Dec 06 when the kids were 13 and 11 and it was "boring" in their words. They only went down once.

Of course, we let them hit the Boardwalk pool's Keister Coaster four years before that and they only rode THAT one once, too, but the opposite reason. Then, again, maybe it wasn't the size of the slide but that freaky clown face you shoot out of...

The slightly pudgy very clumsy woman zipping down the slide was me (or was it slightly clumsy very pudgy?) doesn't matter! Enjoy the slide!
