Thought I saw earlier that there was a separate thread for a potential DISmeet on July 22, but couldn't find the thread. That's our check-in day and we have an ADR at the appointed meet time, but wanted to track the thread in case plans changed.

28 days (to the BC and an excellent zombie flick if you add Later!)!

Cape May is just going to be refurbed (I think the end of the summer) but it will be reopened. I see you have about 7 months so you should be good! We loved being close to Epcot for meals though

If you book through a travel agent, the vouchers I believe go to the travel agent who gets them to you.

If there are five in your party mix, you should get a daybed. Otherwise, if you request one, you might get one but it is not guaranteed. Requesting a balcony doesn't help. I assume you mean you want a full balcony? If that is the case, your reservation should read "full balcony requested" not "balcony requested". We have patios, full balconies and standing balconies at the BC.

Should I try to change our resort to Yacht club so a balcony is a given and then only need to hope for the day bed? Is switching from Beach Club to Yacht club an issue?

Any big or little changes to the hotel that I should know? Can't wait to eat at Beaches and Cream and advantage of walking distance to Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios

We are a family of 5, and have always stayed in the room together with the daybed. We also have never had a full balcony, not realizing you could request one!! We just got what we got, now we know we can just ask for the full.

When we eventually go in 2013, we will be staying in two (garden view) rooms instead of one, we need the room! So two questions.

Are there connecting rooms?
Are there connecting rooms with full balconies?

I can't think of any big changes over the past few years at the moment, but if something occurs to me, I'll let you know.

I believe there are connecting rooms, but not a lot (I could be wrong about that) and I think the priority goes to parties that have more children than adults, so I think yours would qualify if you have 2 adults and 3 children.

I have no idea if there are connecting rooms where both have full balconies, but it is certainly worth requesting.

All of the rooms at the Yacht Club have full balconies, so that might be another option for your family.

I think I'd rather have the full balcony request than the connecting room request anyways, but perhaps we will get lucky and get both!

We just returned from our first stay at the BCV and we had a great time! My DH, sons, and myself all loved the resort and the resort area. I now understand why there are so many of you that love the BC/YC so much. We are already talking about our next trip to the World, and while we don't have dates yet, we already plan on staying at the BC. I'm sure I'll be visiting this thread often.
