OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I am sure the wedding was magical! Hope to run into you in the lounge!

We are in a GV room and it is great. Just down the hall from the lounge. Perfect distance. For us the extra cost of WV was not worth it but we did not want a roof if that makes sense so GV it was!

Teena--See you tomorrow. The crazy little boy obsessed with the lobby and the stairs will be mine (and I will be the frazzled one chasing him while trying to see an official hello to you)!

Getting ready for the hour drive in. See you soon!!!!

I am currently sitting in a hotel room outside LAX ready for our plane trip to Orlando tomorrow, we are going to spend a night in hotel near MCO tomorrow night so that we can arrive at the Yacht Club on Magical Express early Monday morning.

For all those of you who were curious, yeah my wife spilled the beans to the kids on Wednesday, so I failed to get there reaction on camera! Boo. And she's usually the cool one of the group. They are currently in bed while a stay up worrying. I have a feeling I'm going to crash at the Hilton tomorrow night.

I can't believe it's almost here. Everyone is beyond excited!

You going to walk over and say hello on Monday??

Teena I am so sad that you will not be there during our visit. I am however excited for you and your dude ranch visit

I'm sad too!!

I get a smile on my face just thinking of my Jeanne in the fresh air for a week (instead of the dry dirty air she has in Vegas) trying to figure out whether she wants to go riding or fishing every day. She loves salt water fishing on a boat and is very good at it. She misses her summer fishing trips at Cape May, NJ!! This will be her first attempt at lake fishing from the shore but she's excited about it. We both started taking high altitude medicine yesterday. Both our doctors (mine in Florida and hers in Vegas) prescribed the exact same thing when they found we are going to Buena Vista, Colorado. They said it should do away with headaches that everybody else will have.

Hi there. For the first week of our holiday next year we are staying at BC and then moving to a condo for two weeks. We usually hire a car for the entire holiday, but as our first week will be purely dedicated to Disney we're considering not getting a car for the first week. Is the transport from BC good or will we miss having a car for that week?

Personally I would save the money and use the Disney transportation. Remember you can get your "hire" over at the Dolphin after your week at BC if that company is there. By the way, how long does it take for you to remember to drive on the "right" side of the road?;)

Yep. Sitting in a room waiting with all the groomsmen & my son. What can i say. You guys relax me.

To all fathers on the board, happy father's day. And to all the wives, hope you treat them all well today. At least we get one day a year (thanks to Richard Nixon for this occasion).

In happier news we leave one week from today for our first Disney Cruise. We're spending next Saturday night at the Swan (Teena, are you working Sunday?) and heading to the Port on Sunday. I'm super excited.

Amanda, have a great trip. Doing WDW before and after is a great idea.

My question is... to Garden View or Water View... that is the question. Michelle

Save the money, do GV and do a dinner at a great restaurant like V & A. And if you can, PM me when you get back and fill me in on the cruise. DW and I are doing the western Carib this fall. Have a great trip.

Less than 24 hours before my plane takes off !!

I did early boarding (even though I'm traveling alone and probably could have checked in at 24 hours) and got A19!! Bonus: I have some free drink coupons and will be happy to enjoy a tasty beverage!

Have a wonderful trip!

Safe journeys and travels. You will be at SAB in no time!
Happy Fathers Day to all you Disney dads out there!!!

Yes Happy Fathers Day to our Dis Dads as obssessed with the World as we are

You will have a great time and it will be nice for the princess to get out Vegas. I will just have to convince DH that a BB trip is in order so we can meet.

We are leaving this morning from rhe YC if anyone would like 3 noodles let me know.

Teena~ I think you and your DD are going to have a wonderful time at the dude ranch. That's a vacation my dad has taken a couple of times and he loved it! He still talks about them and I know it is a time he will never forget. Plus any time you get to spend together is going to be fantastic just because you are together! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back.:)

To all of those that are on your way or arriving soon.......I'm jealous!!:rotfl: I'm not usually a jealous person but August just seems soooooooo far away right now! I do truly wish you all safe travels and a spectacular time at my favorite place. Hope to see many TRs soon to help feed my addiction!!

Forgot to add: Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful Disney dads!!

Hi all, we're back and wanted to drop in before I start my mounds of laundry.

4) Met Music City Mama at the Sci Fi. We were the hitchhikers in their car!!! :drive: What are the chances of that???

Pretty crazy, huh? It was so nice meeting you! We wound up staying the whole day and waited it out for Hoopla in the rain until they announced that it was cancelled. :sad1: Did you wind up seeing it another night?

And how about that storm Sunday night?? In the eight years + we've been here, we've never experienced one that crazy!!! What a show!!

Hi Teena! :wave2: I know we already talked about this last Monday, but I just wanted to pipe in about what an awful storm this was. Like I mentioned, we live where have "tornado season" and the weather that night seemed perfectly capable of producing one. Pretty scary. We went into Le Cellier that night with not even a hint that the weather was anything other than very nice and came out to that. :scared1: And when we finally braved it to walk back to the BC, we caught the end of Illuminations. Can't believe they didn't cancel it.

Thanks, Teena, for introducing the boys (especially my 9 year old) to pin trading, although, DH and I are still not sure if we should be "thanking" you. I'll be back later with a funny story re: something DS9 said about you.

I can't weigh in on To Cruise or Not To Cruise, having never done it. (I get motion sick just going on the boat from the Beach Club to Disney's Hollywood Studios.)

But I have stayed at both the Royal Pacific and the Hard Rock over at Universal. If you're staying there for convenience to the Universal Parks, go for the Hard Rock. It's a much, much shorter walk to the theme parks. It felt like it took forever to walk from the Royal Pacific to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. And the wait for a boat was extremely long.

I'm staying at Portofino Bay for the first time next month, so I can't comment on that one yet. But I think the commute to the theme parks is even longer from there. (I'm going for a conference, so distance won't matter to me.)

I think the Yacht Club and Beach Club are much nicer than the Royal Pacific and the Hard Rock.

I can't speak for HRH, but BC/YC are definitely nicer than RPR.

Thank you! Although I was just so happy to be going back to BC (at first I thought we were going to have to stay at the Dolphin) but in my heart I really missed CL. I was so lucky that when we were able to upgrade to CL they had an opening. Unfortunately they changed it so that families of 5 cannot book a gv cl room, just sv cl or deluxe cl. While I LOVED our deluxe cl room that year it definitely wasn't in our budget this time. So I'm praying that we get one of the better sv rooms - but at least we're back to CL!!!!

Feckless - We are venturing over to the "dark side" for three nights. We're staying at Royal Pacific so I'll let you know how it goes! The other two times we went to US we stayed at HRH so I'm a little leery. The kids really want to see Harry Potter world and run some crazy roller coasters. However given the choice I'd dump it in a second for a chance for a cruise!

Best Aunt - now you've got me nervous. When we stayed at HRH it was a quick walk to US. I thought that RPR was closes to IOA - how long of a walk are we talking? Longer than from BC to DHS, because we do that one all the time! Now I'm thinking of switching over to HRH if it's a big difference. Kids picked RPR.

The walk is about 10 minutes from RPR to IOA. Definitely shorter than the Epcot resorts area to DHS. I plan on doing a brief review of US/IOA and RPR on that forum in the next few days.

I need to start on laundry, but I'll be back later. Happy Father's Day to the dads!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

I also appreciate the kind words that you, and others have recently expressed about my work on the thread. I have made so many friends here, it is truly a labor of love and not like real work at all. Oh yeah, I don't get paid! It ISN'T like real work! :lmao:
:rotfl2: You do a great job Dee!

Yep. Sitting in a room waiting with all the groomsmen & my son. What can i say. You guys relax me.
Hope your day was great!

I love Key Lime Pie!! You haven't lived till you've had the Frozen Choc dipped Key Lime pie on a stick :rotfl: Had it in Key West- amazing!!
Sounds yummy!
Robyn- have you had the Key Lime dessert at Flame Tree? I have read comments from a lot of people that it is not good at all.

Does anyone out there have opinions on that dessert? I skipped it on our trip last week.
Not so good. I would rather skip this dessert and save the calories for some of the other good food served here.

Yep, Jeanne, me and the cowboys. Can you imagine the managers if I showed up in a cowgirl outfit and hat. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Hope you have a great trip.:)

I just noticed you are taking a split stay between BCV and BLT. That sounds fantastic - two totally different resorts to make it feel like two vacations in one!
This is our first time at BCV. We stayed at BC last summer and fell in love  We own DVC at BLT so that is like going home. We are looking forward to BCV and the Boardwalk Area.

It's a great split. We did this in May and loved it. We planned it so that we never had to use transporation after any of the evening shows/fireworks. That alone made the split worth it. Hope you like it as much as we did.

Happy Father's Day to all the Disney Dads out there!

Hope everyone who's at BC/YC or headed there this week has a wonderful vacation! :goodvibes

10 days!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We've decided not to do online check-in. We did it last time and it was fine, but we thought we'd try something different this time. We booked with a pin discount, standard room, then found that the garden room with the website discount was cheaper, so we switched (standard wasn't available). I've only ever booked standard as the view is not a big deal to me. I think we opened the curtain one time when we were there last time. Still, it will be interesting to see what the difference is.

We will be arriving on the 27th in the evening. I'm not sure how the noodle exchange works, but if there are any available, we'd love to get in on it!

So excited to be here at BC. We got to meet Teena. What an honor. You are even more lovely and sweet in person. The girls were so excited to meet you.

We were also able to beta test the Agent P adventure at Epcot. Very cool.

We are SV CL. The room is very large with a daybed and overlooks the porte cochere. Very comfy and are now getting ready to hit SAB.

Happy Fathers Day all!

Here you go!

Oooh brill, thank you so much. Just got to hope that there is no rain (unlike your trip!) I want to get loads of photos on the beach.

Just checked the "Be our Guest" list and there are now 14 other Disers at Yacht and Beach when we get married!!!!! Wave if you see us :bride:

I am currently in the air on Father's day headed to Walt Disney World. What a great Father's day gift for me(even though I won't officially arrive at WDW until tomorrow morning)

To all the rest of the Fathers out there! Happy Fathers Day!
