Is there a general store there that might sell bread, and staples for sandwiches? I thought I read it somewhere but the "search" is unavailable. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Yes, when you go into OPR, the store on the left has food staples as well as the usual WDW souvenirs.

A trick that many of us know is that some things are cheaper in the General store, vs. the food court. For Example, we always pick up cereal at the grocery store, and if you go into the general store/gift shop, the milk is larger than at the food court and cheaper. It pays to check the prices. DD and I are big milk drinkers and we spend a lot of $$ on milk.
