You can add the tickets to your MDE account and they it should show how many park admissions remain on the ticket. I did this for an older, partially-used ticket for my husband. If I remember correctly, it took a couple of days for the information to show up after I entered it. Now, the ticket with an unidentified owner could be more complicated. You can assign the ticket to someone in your family, but if the finger scan doesn't match when they go to use their Magic Band, there could be a problem.

Also, if you're staying offsite and aren't purchasing Magic Bands, then you will need to exchange your older tickets for RFID-enable tickets in order to use the new entrances and FP+.

wondering if you should add to mde if they only have (can't remember what it was called) extra experience like water parks left.

I had old 10 day nonexpiring hopper tickets with3 park days and 7 waterpark fun & more options left, and two other REALLY old tickets that just had 3 waterpark options left. I assigned the hoppers to DH & myself, and both old option only passes to DD. Once I did that I couldn't reassign it, but now we don't have to buy the extra waterpark option for the next 5 or 6 years.

OP, if the old tickets are the paper type, you will need to have them converted to the new RFID plastic tickets at guest services. Once you convert them to RFID tickets, they can be assigned to anyone - the old fingerprint data goes away with the conversion.

Wow! I didn't realize that the finger scan info was lost at conversion.

Huh. I have 2 days left on my ex's 10 day park hopper (paper tickets from 2006 or so) and 2 on mine and my daughter's plus 4 on my son's. Can I assign my ex's 2 days to me? Then I'd just need to buy my dd a two day and we would all have four days.

wondering this myself? since I have a few old passes left that need converting to RFID, probably used by various peeps in our family- can't I just reassign them to myself so they can be used consecutively? I don't think we did fingerprints, or id for some of them, they are fairly old:rotfl2:

Can anyone confirm this?
I have some five days that I will give a family member since it's not worth it for me to use and then buy a couple more days as we have been going for six/seven days

If you are adding them to your MDE you have the ability to assign them to whoever you want. But once assigned they can not be reassigned using MDE you will need to call.

I may be misunderstanding you, but did you know that you can add days to those tickets? It's absolutely worth it to have them converted to the RFID tickets, use them once and then while you are there add the days you need. You will only pay the difference between current gate price for the 5 day tickets and a 7 day ticket.
The critical step is using them once.. that brings them up to current gate price.

We just did this in December. We had 2 day tickets from 2011. We went to guest services and had them converted to RFID tickets, spent the day at Epcot, and then on the way out added three days to them. FAR less expensive than purchasing all new tickets.

Can you do this with ones that only have "plus" (aka waterpark/etc) days left on them? I have probably five paper tickets from maybe 2008ish that I would LOVE to be able to do this with, but they have no park days left on them, only plusses.

Thanks! DD and I have 2 days left on our no expiration park hoppers. DS has 4. I have my ex-husband's ticket (he's not a theme park guy so he won't be taking the kids to Disney) so I can assign it to DD hopefully and buy myself 2 more days (I know that won't be cheap) and we should all have 4 days. We also want to do 3 days at Universal, so this would help the budget.

I think you are misunderstanding. I'm pretty sure we're talking about partially-used tickets here. Tickets can only be upgraded with 14 days of first usage, even if they were purchased with the no-expiration option.

Even if the ticket was already partially used by me, I can assign it to someone else and the finger scan will not be attached?

I realize that I can not reassign it to someone once assigned in mde but need to know if the posts in different threads, plus this one are correct that old finger scans are no longer attached to the partially used ticket

No, you can't add days to old partially used tickets. Only to tickets that were first used 14 or less days ago (and also you have to add the days before the ticket is fully used up).

We brought all of our old tickets when MBs were still in testing phase, Sept 2013. We have a bunch of old non-exp tix that mostly just have water parks remaining. I distinctly remembering being confused whose ticket was whose before the conversion and I ended up entering TL under dh's ticket. The CM at the gate specifically said, once you use this now, it will have your fingerprint and he can no longer use it. Since dh somehow had 2 tickets with just water parks on them, he didn't really care that I assumed that ticket.

So all of you wondering about fingerprints under the old system and new assignment of tickets, yes that is the only time you can re-assign a ticket.

Also the last time I checked on those old non-exp wp tickets, MDE would only show remaining days of the big parks. It still shows a ticket, but nothing on it. I couldn't "see" the water parks. I'll try again. :goodvibes

ETA: I can only see our recently bought tickets for an upcoming visit in a couple weeks. When I look at our old MBs, it shows a card attached to each MB, but is that our park ticket or a cyber KTTW?

I have the same with not seeing the old tickets with waterpark and other features not showing up on MDE on computer. If I go on my phone ap I do see them. By the way they say four park days left but should be four plus features left.
