Do people using the old park hopper passes (not Magic Your Way passes) have to go through the Biometrics scanners as well? And do they also have to show ID for the passes?
No, if you have the old type tickets, as long as they have a magnetic strip on the back, you can use them in the turnstiles just like you used to. Only if you purchase the new MYW tickets will you need to do biometrics.
So EVERYONE with the MYW tix has to do the biometric thing? I'm just curious because me, DH and DS all have old hoppers we are using this trip but my mom is using a MYW ticket......I didn't really want to separate our party going thru the turnstiles if at all possible.

You won't have to separate your party. The biometric scan machines are at all the turnstiles. You and your family can just go through with your old tickets and your Mom will have to do the finger thing. Have a great time!
Just agreeing with everyone else. Went the first week of MYW, but DS had old park hopper I'd bought in December at the Disney Store. He never had to do biometrics. Also, even though he had his hand stamped every time he left the park, the stamp was never checked when he entered a new park. We didn't even see any of those black lights they use to scan your hand.
The hand stamps usually function as a back-up for Cast Members... so that we have something to use if the ticket readers go down. I haven't seen anyone actually USE the blacklights in quite a while.
