old or new DVC owners' meetings?

Just a harmless little poll to let the powers that be know how we feel about the changes that have been made to the location, treats, times, etc. of the owners' meetings.

I feel like we lost an important perk.

How do you feel?

Liked it better when there were multiple locations and they were in the morning.

We were at AKL last week and DH asked at the DVC desk about the time of the member's meeting. We were told Wednesday, Saratoga Springs at 4:30. The DVC person even made a phone call to verify the 4:30 time, yep it's at 4:30.

After we said thank you and walked away, I told DH that we should be there by 4:00 because that's what time the Dis says for the meeting. Yes, the meeting did start at 4:00. Thanks Dis!

We are not going to any more updates unless the format changes. THe SSR one was a waste of time.

jekjones -- Maybe you have addressed what the meeting was like in another thread -- but could you elaborate (or direct me to that post?)

We were thinking about attending while at Dinsey over the next 2 weeks -- but not if it is a "waste" or poorly organized or non-informative, etc.

The new meeting was much more formal. Everyone sits in the theater and listens or watches. It lacks the interactivity of the old meeting, IMHO. It felt like a sales meeting, not a chance for DVC family to gather. There was info about II exchanges, but nothing we had not heard before. There was really no attempt to get folks involved in the discussion or with each other.
My OP was very curt, I now realize. Sorry! Other people may feel differently, but we were VERY disappointed in the SSR meeting and were sorry that we had wasted part of our vacation to attend.

Well, if that's the format, I agree, what's the point -- they could do that in a mailing.

Doesn't sound like anything that entices us to rearrange our schedules around it.

We had two shots at going to the meeting during our recent vacation. The location and timing are really not very convenient. I wanted to attend, having never gone to one. But we weren't going to re-arrange everything else around that meeting.

I'm sure that some day we'll attend. But for now, I find that there is much more information on this board than anyone has ever reported coming out of one of those meetings!
