Old, New & Long Lost Friends, with a Side of Frump! FINISHED! DL TR started 1.20.14!

What a beautiful day at MK!

I can't wait to check out new Fantasyland! I love the water underneath Dumbo too!

When we went in September- we didnt get to ride Dumbo bc the line was too long and we were leaving that day and tried to cram in as much stuff as possible. Def next time!

Wonderful update!

I assume the fastpass card was used to get fastpasses, not as a fastpass? Pretty cool souvenir either way!

I really liked Storybook Circus, particularly the CM costumes. I just found them to be so perfect for the area.

They really blew me away with the Storybook Circus area too! So well themed. :goodvibes I really can't wait to see everything opened up and accessible once the Mine Train is done.

J's sunglasses are so pink & sassy!

I haven't seen the new Dumbo area for myself! The bright colors look so inviting. I'll definitely have to see the place for myself especially since my husband has some strange love for Dumbo, haha. He distinctly remembers watching it a lot as a little kid.

Finally catching up! Sorry I disappeared!

Don't you feel like you're betraying the mouse when you leave the property? Hahaha! We went to Universal for the day and as excited as I was, it does feel a little odd to leave the gates. Love how easy it is to drive around the property- lots of signs all over the place!

All your SSR pictures are making me drool! Unfortunately our next trip is a half marathon trip so I couldn't sell DSis on a trip with that much walking. However, we are going to give DVC renting a try!

Love that you caught some Long Lost Friends! What a cool experience!

The detail in NF is great. I was hunting for Hidden Mickeys all over the place.

Hahaha, love the dartboard! I'm glad you got Tavern shots because I really wanted to see what the inside looks like.

We also got surprise FPs for Dumbo from the Winnie the Pooh machines! We'd already ridden that day but the surprise alone was awesome!

I've seen all of Storybook Circus except for the store and the meet and greet area, and I have to agree, it's so stinking adorable!

BAHAHA I love your pun. Puns are the best things ever.

Dumbo looks excellent! Oddly enough I just talked about Dumbo on my update as well. :goodvibes Yay for an update I was able to read! I swear that as soon as I get to see everything in person, I'll come back and read all these updates that I missed! :rotfl:

We didn't make it back to the Meet and Greet area either, but I'm wishing we had, even if it was just to look in and not wait for the characters. At least it leaves something for me to do next time!

I'm gradually catching up on Twitter and TRs from being crazy busy at work this past week and out of town over the weekend - do you know for certain yet if you'll be back to WDW soon to see everything?

I was a bit wary of the circus theme when it was first announced too, but I think it's so fun there! I love all of the bright colors!

Oswald ears!!! Awesome! :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear other people felt the same way I did about the circus theming, since it would be so easy for them to go overboard cheesy/tacky. But this is Disney we're talking about, and all of their recent expansions have been absolutely amazing!

Correct! She was able to use that at the FP machines for the rest of the day so she could wait to get a new ticket at Guest Services as she was leaving instead of running up there right away.

I agree! It'll be cool to see how they theme the walking path that takes you between Storybook Circus and New Fantasyland!

I'm not sure why, but over the past year I've developed a much bigger love and appreciation for Dumbo, both the movie and the character. It was really all I could do to restrain myself from buying every piece of Dumbo merch in Big Top Souvenirs, haha.

Count me in!!! That would be so much fun!:dance3:

I love, love, love LeFou's Brew! I can't wait to have it again!

You got some great pictures of New Fantasyland!

Score! We only need about 30 more people to make this happen, hahaha.

I'm glad there is someone else who enjoyed LeFou's Brew as much as I did! It really seems like there are more people out there who didn't care for it at this point.

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

Hopefully I'll have another update ready soon!

It's amazing that even with the double Dumbo spinners the lines there still get pretty long! I guess everyone is so excited about checking out the new area that it's going to keep lines long for awhile (not to mention Dumbo being one of the most iconic Disney rides in general).

Don't worry about it! I've disappeared for a little bit myself because of how crazy life has been. Glad to have you back!

I agree - I've done trips to Universal before too, and while there are some things there I enjoy, I always feel so much better once I'm back on Disney property.

Do you know which DVC resort you're going to try and rent points for first? I definitely think that's the way to go if you want to stay in a Deluxe, but don't want to spend quite as much money.

I loved looking for the Hidden Mickeys too - on our last day, a cast member pointed one out near Be Our Guest that was really cool! I can't wait to write about it later!

Just joining in! I love the view of DTD from your room. I cant wait to see the NFL in September. I just love looking at everyone's pictures. It really is super cool! Loving your TR so far and I cant wait for more:thumbsup2

:welcome: I can't wait for you to see it in person! Pictures really don't do it justice. Thanks for reading!

Our first choice is BWI, but seeing as we're trying to book for a busy weekend (and we're a little paranoid) we lined up a second, third, and fourth choice consisting of BC, WL, and OKW (in that order.) All of them look beautiful and the savings just cannot be beat!

Can't wait to see the Hidden Mickey! Hopefully you've got a picture! :thumbsup2

Chapter 12 - Even Galactic Heroes Can't Prevent Fashion Crimes

After finishing our ride on Dumbo, we walked back to Fantasyland to use our Winnie the Pooh Fast Passes. (I don't seem to have pictures here, so you'll have to trust me on this part). Once we got off the ride, we knew it was definitely time for lunch, since the only thing we'd had to eat so far today was the LeFou's Brew and some fruit. We debated where to go, and decided to make our way to...

img6634v.jpg

It was such a nice day, we decided to grab our food and eat it at one of the outdoor dining tables.

Scott had made a joke before we left Maryland that he wanted to eat a chili dog every day of the trip. Apparently, he wasn't joking.

I went with a grilled chicken sandwich, mainly because since we were at Cosmic Rays, I was really just interested in utilizing the toppings bar! I also got the cucumber salad instead of fries, but it just tasted like some very crisp/fresh pickles. Not that I'm complaining, because I looove pickles. But it didn't seem to fit the description.

img6636cy.jpg

K&A each got the Greek salad - it's become one of their favorite Magic Kingdom QS meals.

img6637k.jpg

We sat around talking for quite a while, just catching up on life and them asking us when we were going to finally move down to Florida so we could hang out on a more regular basis. If only it were that easy!

As we were talking, we spotted Tigger and Pooh walking by, so I had to get a picture.

img6639yh.jpg

I don't know what it was about this trip, but I felt like we encountered the characters wandering around the park a lot more frequently than usual.

Before we left, I had to run back inside Cosmic Ray's to get a quick picture - it's not a real Cosmic Ray's meal until you've seen Sonny Eclipse!

img6638v.jpg

Since we were in Tomorrowland, we decided to ride one of K, A & J's favorite attractions, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. As we were waiting in the standby line, I got an eyeful from the person standing in front of us.

img0995vt.jpg

As I told Twitter,

@GertietheDino89 You are a grown, adult woman. This is a Disney Fashion Don't.

I'm really not one to critique what people wear in most cases, since I'm no fashion icon myself, but I just don't get why someone would think that's a good look for WDW. :confused3

Anyway, moving on. We didn't have much of a wait for Buzz - I think it was only around 15 minutes.

On the ride, somehow A, who hadn't been on this ride since December 2011 managed to max out the score and get 999,999!

img0996eb.jpg

CONGRATULATIONS A, YOU ARE A GALACTIC HERO! Her husband kept trying to figure out how she "cheated," haha. I managed to get that score once on the MIB ride in Universal Studios, but I am HORRIBLE on Buzz Lightyear, so I was in awe of her skills!

Our ride photos are pretty awesome too:

Naturally, since we were in Tomorrowland, our next ride was the PeopleMover!

img6648bi.jpg

img6650h.jpg

I learned that if you're there on a slow day, as you are coming around to the unloading area, if you spin your finger in a circle the CM will let you stay on and ride it through again! I really don't know what it is about the PeopleMover that makes me love it so much, but it really is one of my favorite WDW attactions. If only they still had it in Disneyland...

After the PeopleMover, I had really wanted to take a walk through Cinderella's Castle to look at the murals on the walls inside. As we were leaving Tomorrowland, we saw that Push was out!

I was the only one in our group who had seen him before, so everyone was pretty excited that he was out!

img6652r.jpg

Unfortunately for us, Dream Along with Mickey was performing as we were walking through the Hub, so instead of walking through the Castle we decided to head on through Adventureland. Pirates had only a 5 minute wait, so Scott, A and I went on while K stayed outside with J - she had fallen asleep in her stroller and they wanted to make sure she got a little bit of a nap.

img6657l.jpg

@GertieTheDino89 Have they figured out how to bottle the scent of Pirates of the Caribbean yet?

img6658h.jpg

This was my first time on Pirates since they added in the new mermaid effects. I didn't mind the addition of the mermaids themselves, but the mermaid song seemed to play too long in that area and took away from the buildup of that part of the ride a little bit.

img6663a.jpg

After we finished riding, we went to check on K & J, and J was still asleep. We wanted to wait for her to wake up before going on the Jungle Cruise, another of her favorite rides, so Scott, K and I went over to the Enchanted Tiki Room. I was excited to see that my friend Lindsey was working outside the Tiki Room today! She had taken a few days off work that week so we would be able to hang out with each other, so while we waited for the next show to start, she and I were able to figure out some plans.

We went into the Enchanted Tiki Room just before showtime, and it was great as always. The first time I saw this attraction was in 2011, and I did not know why I had waited so long to finally experience it! I love the songs and it's really become one of my can't miss shows at Walt Disney World.

img6667i.jpg

Once we left the Tiki Room, we were keeping our fingers crossed that J would be awake so we'd all be able to go on the Jungle Cruise!

The weather in all your pictures looks great! It was cold and windy the day we visited MK so I'm a little jealous :goodvibes

That Greek salad looks fantastic!

Looks like you've hit pretty short wait times for everything so far which is great! MK has so many classic rides that really are must-dos so I can't wait to see what you do next!

Have to say, I like the idea of a chili dog a day! Gotta love how the cameras are set up for the in-ride photo for Buzz. I don't think I've seen a good one of myself or anyone else in my family. :lmao:

We have yet to have met Push. I keep putting it on my to-try list each trip but it manages to fall off the list.

And about the woman with the fashion "misstep", I'm just glad you didn't take a picture of her from the front! :scared1: Seriously, this is the equivalent of Sue Ellen Mischke walking around in just a bra.

Hahaha WDW does seem to be a home of some odd fashion sometimes!!

That Greek salad from Cosmic Ray's looks really good!

BAHAHAHAAHA.. That picture of the pink bra is hilarious.. SMH!!

Looks like you guys had a productive afternoon! POTC and Tiki Room is def one of my favorites!

I had the grilled chicken sandwich at Cosmic Ray's for the first time last trip, and was pleasantly surprised! It had just enough kick to it.

WOW. :scared1: What a pleasant view to have as you walked through the Buzz Lightyear queue! Was the front of the shirt see through too?! The things people will wear in public...

Love the TTA!! Didn't used to enjoy it as much, but now that we have DS with us, it's one of our favorites. Almost always a walk on, quiet, relaxing...perfect attraction with a toddler.

The Tiki Room is one of those love/hate attractions. :rotfl: It annoys me to no end, but somehow we end up seeing it every single trip anyway!!

That outfit should be a fashion don't anywhere! I know they have mirrors in the Disney hotels so unless she was staying offsite in a place with no mirrors.....:rotfl2:
