I went to Old Navy today and picked out a bunch of stuff for a baby shower and I spent $75. I asked for a gift box and was told the prices of these boxes. Now, whether or not I spent $7 or $75 shouldn't these boxes be a free item?
I've been to many stores and I was given a box when requested. Anyone annoyed by this as well?

On another note, is it ok to give baby clothes at a baby shower? LOL, I hope so because that's what I'm bringing! :)

Old Navy has had that policy for awhile now. It is a little annoying but I guess that's part of the reason that their clothes are so well priced. I always appreciate when stores give gift boxes but they are not required to do so.

Baby clothes are great as a baby shower gift. Hope that you have a great time.

I know it was a policy there and I usually dont shop there enough to want a gift box but I find it ridiculous that they charge for a gift box. I don't really think their prices are so spectacular to warrant charging for a gift box. LOL, but I'm sure I'll survive, I just wanted to vent a bit.

At least they also provide tissue paper and that little band you can use instead of a bow -not for a baby shower - but when I'm giving to DD or her friends!

I was a little surprised at Christmastime to see that Old Navy was charging for gift boxes when most of the other stores were giving them away.
Yankee Candle had free ones, but ran out quickly and offered others for a fee.

I personally don't care for Old Navy. I wouldn't pay for a box that will probably be thrown in the trash anyway. I'd rather buy a nice gift bag for the baby gift, one that the mother-to-be could reuse.

I agree with Kirby, I would spend my money on a gift bag instead, or spend my money to have something gift wrapped all fancy, instead.

I never shop at Old Navy, I buy gift cards there for my nieces quite often, though. Those don't need a box ;)
