And it works!!

My DS, 3/12, apparently has some ringworm on this belly area. The doctor told me, telephone consult, to apply Lotrimin on it. Well I had some and started using this about 3 days ago and yesterday realized that this medicine expires July 1999.

And it works and I'm still going to use it!!!

Anyone else like this happen before?

I never check the expiration dates for topical cremes/ointments.

From what I've heard, legally, they must show as the expiration date the date when the medicine will start to lose potency. So expired medicines can still work, they just aren't as strong.

I've used expired Tylenol. I just figure if I take the maximum dose, I might be getting the regular dose, and that ought to be enough.

July 1999 is pretty old, though! Glad to hear it's still working for your son!

No, I'm pretty anal with expiration dates, probably more than I need to be though....
