Old Magic Bands/Fastpass plus Loophole Closed?

If I try it I'll create a phantom account and perhaps buy bands online and type them in myself Or as its called link them myself and then go to a kiosk once inside the park.

And then these same bands can do this each day of trip?

So, a new MDE or phantoms in your original MDE - decide which one will be less confusing.

So, at least add an "Uncle Joe & Aunt Agnes Freebie" in your regular account.

I'd not want them there.
(Black sheep of the family, and all.)

That's correct. It will work - DISers report back to the SDFP thread on a regular basis and it continues to be successful.

we created a new account for our upcoming trip. the old bands are on our other account. Would that work?

As far as I know, don't they have to be linked to an active ticket to work? For instance, with CM guest tickets that are 'active', we were able to use the extra FPs (we thought more were coming, honest, but they didn't, so we used the FPs instead) even though they hadn't 'entered' the park. They worked just fine, but those are tickets with active status. I didn't think the MBs would work for FPs if there is no active ticket assigned to them? As in, you have a 3 day pass, you use all of them, now you no longer have any active days, will it still allow you to assign that person? I didn't think so? I thought it was all about the ticket entitlements purchased that link with it, whether you enter the parks or not. If I try to book a ticket for my sister, it will say "Needs admission". On the other hand, the CM guest passes and our APs are basically always good, therefore, we can always book Fps to them...?

Or does the above question only apply to the MDE app and blank MBs can be used in the park kiosks?! If so, interesting...

Yes, with the "old bands" you will be able to make SDFP at the Kiosks (only) in the parks. Once the FP's are made however you can modify them on the MDE app (logging into to your old account).

As @hiroMYhero mentioned, definitely read, at least the first post linked below:

We used a friends magicbands, in addition to our own. We visited a kiosk every morning to add FP+ for the day, in addition to the 3 pre-booked we had. It worked great and I had to remember to take a picture of the screen before we exited because we didn't have access to that MDE account.

It worked great and if the loophole is still open the next time we visit, we'll do it again. :)

great idea to take a picture of the screen. Anyone done this recently and can confirm it is still do-able?

This. Just at the kiosks. A ticket entitlement is only required to PRE-BOOK fastpasses.

This is an old thread. There is recent info in the Everything FP+ sub-forum ~ link is at the top of this TPAS page.

Wow... It amazes me how this is thought of as ok but if someone wants to use child swap in the right way everyone has issues with it. I have seen on multiple posts about how it's not fair and everyone shod have FP to use the child swap yet people are getting double if not triple
Fast passes to use with old bands. No wonder why standby wait times
Are ridiculous.

I've tried to follow everything that's been said, but I'm still confused (doesn't take much for me anyway lol)... I'm interested bc we'll have multi bands anyway simply due to not liking the plain resort ones, matching outfits etc (silly maybe-yes, but where else can you freely be so "silly" heehe)... If you have to involve a kiosk (and it's long line) anyway, what's the advantage of going through the extra steps for the dummy MDE's? To be able to book the add'l FP's 3 at a time vs single only until, not having to keep going back to that long line (and availability be gone by then)? Not having to wait until "your" 3 have been used to book that day? Any other advantages? :confused3 And I gotta give some props to the above poster bc while I love ALL things DIS, it does feel a little close to "cheating" for comfort (please no flames ). Unless I'm misunderstanding something?

1. It does require a kiosk visit.
2. It won't necessarily be a long line.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. Multiple rides per day via FP on popular attractions.
6. Pretty much.
7. Only that Disney could stop it if they wanted to.

Not if the guest(s) to whom they are assigned will be at the park.
All MBs assigned to you (anyone on this trip) will be considered identical (duplicates)
of the current MBs assigned for this trip.

Only "old" MBs assigned to guests who will NOT be on this trip can be used as "extra" MBs.

Sorry, I have lots of questions now:

So if I have Magicbands for 6 people and only four of us are traveling this year can I assign those extra two bands on my MDE to FP? Under the assumption that I buy two at the park, can I add those to my MDE with different names or do I need a dummy account? And would I do FP at the kiosk only for day one, then choose on the computer. And if they are on my MDE, can I copy my FP to those extra bands?

Thank you Robo! And I can see to justify "cheating" feelings by the fact we're paying for the add'l bands...so...equal to paying for the add'l FP's. And I would def pay for more if ever offered. Wheels now turning...

Hmm..everyone had a coniption about all the ADR " dummy " sites taking all the ressie that couldn't be booked.....but stacking/ hording/ hogging FP+ "ressies" that lessen chances for the rest of us is OK...seems hipocritical .... :rolleyes1...

1. No "assigning" needed. Just take those "extra" MBs with you into the park and you can get same-day FP+ at a kiosk for each "extra" MB.
2. You can.
3. You can do that, too.
4. No. (Unless you had valid TICKETS assigned to each additional MB.)
5. If you mean duplicate the same FP reservations as you have on your first account, then
yes, in advance, if you have separate valid TICKETS assigned to each additional MB.
Assuming that there will be FP available to "copy."
