Old Magic Bands/Fastpass plus Loophole Closed?

I've been following this trying to decided if I want to buy extra MBs (which I actually did buy some designer ones for my oldest and myself but this was before I knew about this loophole so I linked them to our "real" selves on MDE...ugh). But I guess I'm realizing now, that I could book a room only, get MBs sent, then cancel. When do they send the MBs? I would need to book the room only more than 30 days prior, right? TIA

Technically I hear of people doing this. Book before 30 days out and cancel before 5 days out (unless those days have changed recently) and get the MB's sent to you. Personally, I don't feel comfortable with this since in my opinion it is stealing from Disney (since these things do have a set monetary value). I'm okay with exploiting a "glitch" in the system to take advantage of "free" extra FPP's but not taking something from Disney that I could/should buy.

Yep, we're local and have 3 college/military sons with AP's who live out of state. Can use their AP's (yes, I tested yesterday still) and book FPP's 30 days in advance and then use them. This is particularly helpful when I have a friend visit so between the 3 kids, DH, mine and the friend's AP's/tickets I can get a total of 3 sets (9 total) of FPP's for 2 people each. Or to be able to get that second Tier 1 in a park.

This perplexes me too since the old paper FP system checked for park entry and it wasn't possible to get a FP for someone who hadn't used the ticket to enter that day. Not sure why they don't do it any more and I was sure this update was going to change it. Sure it's only a matter of time...

When paper FP was first implemented, old expired park passes and room keys could be used to get a FP until the loophole was closed. This is why I suspect they will close the current one as well with FP+.

I think more people are doing it than you think. Many of the people who will tell you how great FP+ is are having good experiences because they are exploiting the system. This is especially ironic because those same people claimed to dislike the previous system because people were "hoarding" paper FP.
It also effects those who don't exploit this loophole because those individuals are going to find their 4th FP options limited after their original 3 as the desirable attractions will be taken once the users who are dong this enter the parks.

OK one more question. I have one old one day ticket, which has never been used (so is transferrable). We have 5 travelers this trip and two MDE accounts. Can I link the ticket to my dummy MDE then transfer it from person to person making FP's for each individually the night before?

Only "old" MBs assigned to guests who will NOT be on this trip can be used as "extra" MBs.[/QUOTE said:
Only my son and I will be going in May. My husband and daughters have magic bands from our last family trip. We can take 2 of those and use them to make extra FP reservations? They are all on my MDE account. F&F list shows my girls have Disney accts, hubby doesn't. Don't know if that makes a difference. What do I have to do? TIA

Ok, I mentioned on another thread that I had to cancel my room only reservation and change it to a package. I will now get another se of bands. Will the originals work, and do I have to do anything to (re) activate them? Not sure I will end up using them, but just in case..

1. I will now get another se of bands.
2. Will the originals work, and
3. do I have to do anything to (re) activate them?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. No.
Unless YOU have actually gone into your MDE account and deactivated them, all of your MBs will work at WDW, interchangeably.

Thank you! I'm a natural worrier. About using the magic bands (2nd set). With the app. isn't that no longer an advantage?
