My family and I will be staying at OKW for the first time in September. :thumbsup2

I'd like something close to the main building, what is your favorite section and why ???

Thanks! :woohoo::woohoo:

We have been members at OKW since 1994(when it WAS dvc) and have stayed in every area(too many trips to count!). We love Miller's Road area the best-close walk to main area/pool, nice quiet pool area and good bus route; 2nd choice is turtle pond area- really nice pool with snack bar open during busy season- nice walk to main area and good bus route. We really don't mind any area-even the most remote is an easy walk to the main area. We love havingour car right outside the villa(we drive from Boston). We don't request the ones near the main area because we find it too busy and you often have to wait for a bus due to crowds waiting.
I'm sure you will have a great time..we will be there for xmas week for the 4th year in a row!

I have been an owner since 1993 and agree that all areas are wonderful.
The area near Hospitality House (main building) is congested at times with check-ins, those going to Olivia's restaurant, and those using the main pool and not wanting to walk there. I agree that Miller's Road ( just across the front of the resort) is the best choice for access/and yet far enough away from crowds. If you want only occasional use of the main pool area--go to Old Turtle Pond with a smaller pool...and still great "Disney style". Good luck on your visit....and "Welcome Home" in advance.

My daughter saw the pictures of the pool with the slide. So where should we ask to stay if we want to be closer to that???

"Near Hospitality House" would be closest to the main pool, but DVC owners need to book that as a special category. I don't know how that would be handled on your free upgrade but you can certainly ask.

OKW has what they call "near the hospitality house". This is what you would request if you want to stay near the main pool. We have stayed in multiple locations and we prefer the "near the hospitality house" buildings. We haven't had to worry about the crowds for the busses, because we always have a car with us. Therefore, I could not speak to that. If you have a car then it is a non issue. Either way I think you will enjoy OKW.

We don't worry so much about "where" as long as it's OKW. ANY area at OKW is easily accessible to the main pool by hopping on ANY bus, since all buses stop at Hospitality House last before leaving the resort. There are 5 bus stops, so you are always within a short walk of one. Also, unless you are in the Turtle Pond area, and maybe most distant buildings at South Point, everything is easily walkable to the main area....nice sidewalks etc. Our favorit buildings are 45, 46, 15, 55, 16, 21.

bldg 49 was my favorite. way away from the main pool, but quiet and with a beautiful view of the golf course and right around the corner from the turtle pond quiet pool. (i would love to try a canal view like from bldg 55).

This will be my first stay at OKW too over Labor Day weekend. I know this will be very different from VWL but I am looking forward too it too.

Personally, we prefer the back forty, we love to walk. We've alway been fortunate to get a nice view and the only request ever made is to be near a quiet pool and BBQ grills!

Okay-- I'm an idiot! I have seen several references to Bldg 45 and would like to check it out for our upcoming visit. But for the LIFE of me, I haven't been able to find it on this map. Could somebody please spell out its location for this poor, simple-minded, map challenged Diser??? :confused3

It's just to the left of the word Legend on the map.

Stayed in a 3 br Grand Villa in June in building 19 (room 1922 to be exact). It was less than a 5 minute walk to the Hospitality House. The bus service was fine from there. But there were times when we had to skip the Hospitality House stop since the bus was full.
I believe it is the Miller's Road stop that we used.

Does anyone know what the "dark teal" pathway is on the map? It's the same color as the golf greens and lighter than parking lot/roadway areas. One of them wraps around Bldg. 49. Thanks!

Those are the cart paths for the golf course.

I've stayed there a few times, my favorite buildings are 37 & 43. Very quiet and nice views.

Thanks. Too bad we can't walk on them! They look pretty convenient!

Also-- do you happen to remember the approx. walking time to the main pool from those buildings??
