I own at BWV and VWL but will be staying at OKW next week for the first time. I thought I would miss the Boardwalk but after reading this thread it makes me think I'm in for a relaxed stay. Which is what we really wanted

Just got back last week. OKW was fabulous! My DW and I liked it better than BCV but the kids prefer the BCV because they didn't like walking! My DW and I love the laid back atmosphere and we got a great site as well. Thanks for all the help!

Bring plaid shorts and sandals and black socks for hubby and wear a nice big brimmed sun hat OKW is afterall the retirement village of DVC LOL. Sorry many many people love OKW but to our family it feels like a retirement community. The only plus side to OKW is the low point cost per night in comparison to the other resorts.

We also just got back last week...fell in LOVE with OKW; me, DH, and both kids (16 and 7) just adored it. So much so that my DH, who had said this was a one time trip, wants to stay again in a couple of years. We did take some time to check out the BWV and BCV area and thought it might be fun to stay part of our next trip there, but we would miss OKW a lot if we didn't stay at least part of the time there, too. It didn't have a retirement village feel to us at ALL. We thought it was very lush and relaxing and accessible to the rest of WDW. We can't wait to go back again.

Can you choose a specific building/room (if available) at check-in? We're going for the first time, and it looks like Building 11 or 14 would be perfect - any thoughts? We have a 2 and 6 year old. Thanks
