We are here now at asmu and I'm really wishing I had just booked at okw. We had Thot we'd stop halfway but then decided to drive all the way in one day so we only needed a place to sleep. We had forgotten how small the rooms are.

It's just for a few hours.

That's what I keep telling myself lol.

Gee, I thought DH was the only OKW snob. Just last week he told someone it was the ONLY true DVC resort-at least for him. So I can understand your feelings.

It's funny my dh agreed with me this morn So I guess he is too.

If it were going to be for longer, I would encourage you to find things you like about it! But it's probably not worth it.

We love love LOVE OKW, but when we stayed at Sports we adored that, too. That big huge pool? LOVE! The wide open spaces? LOVE! The food court? Hi, LOVE! :)

Of course, we did get a preferred room so maybe it was a touch bigger than a normal room? (not sure) No it wasn't a big ol' OKW 1 or 2 bedroom, but it was good for what it was. :)

We liked it so much we are totally willing to take non-DVC trips on years that we're out of points, and stay at Values. We're doing a big insane multiple-room-changes trip in Feb, and we're ending at POP to check out that Value! So I would encourage you to find things you could love, IF it's important.

I love OKW, but have stayed in the Value resorts for a night or two when driving in early. If I had to choose, I'd pick POP over any of the All Stars. The rooms are about the same, but POP has a nicer food court area. You're right, they don't really compare to OKW...but they're OK for a very short stay. And at least you are at Disney!

We like Pop too. We often go to the food court there even when we stay in DVC. TIW card is honored there.:goodvibes

It was ok just for the one night the beds were hard as bricks. My back was killing me after that one night. I would have been miserable staying longer. The last night we stayed there I guess was 05 or 06 Since 07 we stayed at cbr or por until we bought DVC in 2010.
Will have to try pop again

I have booked two rooms for one night for our trip in June. I have not stayed at a value resort since 2003. It is only for one night before we switch to AKV the next day.
Couldn't see wasting points on less than 12 hours in a hotel room to go directly to AKV. So ASMo it is. Kids are kind of excited about going back since it was their first resort. I think DVC has spoiled me. The best part of DVC-a washer and dryer right there in your room! I do laundry every day just because I can! The extra space doesn't hurt either.

We agree too - if stuck at a value resort, POP is the best one! Food court has a wide selection and the decor is cute.

I too do laundry ea day I throw a load in the morning then before we leave for the parks throw it in the dryer.fold it when we return to the rm.
