Is this a nice resort? I am looking to book a 2bedroom Villa-Disney.com has it for 490 per night Value Season.

Can this price be beat with a code?

We are not going to any of the Disney Theme Parks. Just Sea World, but still want a little Disney Magic. How far is it from Sea World?

We are going to DTD.

Is this resort worth it? Can you share with me your experience.

We are a family of 4- DH, Me, DS(3 at time of travel) DD((14 at time of travel).

OKW is my home resort - love it.

however if you aren't going to Disney - don't stay at Disney - it is to expensive.

try the HGVC - hilton grand vacation club
it is across the street from Seaworld.

Yes, the 2 BR at OKW is gorgeous, and probably a lot more room than your family needs! They will love it, though. There are sometimes AP discounts available, but that wouldn't help you. You can also check the DVC Rent/Trade board here on the DIS. Depends on when you are going, but a 2 BR at OKW would cost about $220 to $270 a night if you rent points from a DVC member. That's weeknights only, weekends are more.

Sea World is under a 20 minute drive from OKW. It is a simple drive up Rt4 but I am not sure of the mileage.

I love OKW but if you are going to Sea World, another condo resort to consider besides HGVC is the Marriott Cypress Harbor. It is down the block from Sea World. Much more convenient than OKW.

This is one of those cases where staying on-site is a disadvantage. I would only stay on-site to go to Sea World if I planned on going to the WDW parks also. If it was a Sea World only trip, I would only stay on-site if I had the points to stay on-site and I didn't want to pay out of pocket.

We always try to stay at the Cypress Harbor when not staying at a DVC resort.

Get your Disney fix by going to Downtown Disney and/or having a dinner at one of the WDW resorts! Use the savings to have some really great meals or other activities - isn't there some sort of dolphin swim thing at Discovery Cove that costs $$$$$$?

Have a great trip!

There's a nicer way to get to SW that I think is more pleasant to drive. It keeps you off of the I-4 highway, and probably doesn't take any longer.

Exit OKW by turning right.
Go to the stop sign at Buena Vista Drive, turn right (heading toward DD)
At the traffic light, turn left onto Hotel Plaza Blvd.
At the traffic light (crossroads), turn left
Go one block, to next traffic light. Turn right on to Palm Parkway
Follow Palm Parkway all the way to the next traffic light.
At light, turn right on to Florida Parkway
Go underneath I-4
SW will be 1/2 mile down on the left.

Now, after all that is said, I agree with the other posters. If you're only going to SW, look to stay at one of the resorts up in that area. If your kids like water, you might try Marriott's Horizons. They have a nifty little water play area your 3 yr old will love, and possibly your 14 yr old also. And their regular pool is great for the whole family.

I agree with the posters who recommend some beautiful resorts near Seaworld.

We have stayed at Hilton Grand Vacations Club near Seaworld, Marriott Grande Vista, Marriott Cypress Harbor and Horizons.

Marriott Cypress Harbour feels a lot like OKW--but probably for 1/2 the cost (which is something to think about if you are going to Seaworld this trip vs WDW Parks) They have all 2 bedroom units there. It's 2 minutes from Sea World. We really love this resort!! They have a nice activity center, mini putt, entertainment by the pool nearly every day, a Polynesian show with fire dancers each week and the pools are the warmest we have encountered at any resort.

You can always take a stroll along the Boardwalk, go to Downtown Disney or Chef Mickey's for a little 'low cost' Disney Magic!

If you want a taste of Disney, why not stay at Saratoga Springs instead of OKW this time? You'll be able to walk to DTD, and the Spa and Golfing are right there if you want to do something like that.

And I bet you can get a good rate rate because it's new and I've heard is usually not booked solid. But you'll still feel like you are in Disney.

We love the OKW dedicated two bedrooms, and that is what we book most often. If it were me, I WOULD consider staying there to do ANY of the other area offerings. You can still take advantage of the proximaty of DTD via the walkway or boat.
