Shouldn't I be able to book Dec 1st today?

Tomorrow may actually be a great day to start a booking for 12/1 as I think many people may sleep in or forget to walk their reservation.
I noticed this on Thanksgiving Day with my 2 home resorts - CCV and RIV. Studios were definitely being walked at both resorts, but you could actually book them both on Thanksgiving morning - maybe the day before and the day after too, but don't remember exactly.

When I tried to book today for 12-1 to 12-8, it decided it was going to take all my points, current and banked, from each contract in order until it had enough, instead of taking all the banked points first from 4 contracts and then the remaining 40 points points from the first contract's then current use year. I suspect I'll be calling on Friday and have to wait in line to straighten this issue out...

So, even after you booked, with all contracts checked, it didn’t take the banked points?

I know there is a screen that makes it seem like it won’t but once finalized it does…

If it didn’t then definitely a wonderful website glitch!!

I was able to book Dec 1 today. 🚶‍♀️ I still say this is a strange dumb way to do this, but my husband says its makes sense. 😂

I think it makes sense once you think about it. Maybe it's one of those left brain/right brain things. There is a booking window calculator on the DVC dashboard under your upcoming reservations that will help you figure out when you can book your dates.

I think it would make more sense if the rest of Disney booking was this way. But dining, LL, cabanas etc are all the way I assumed it was for DVC.

Gotcha, I don't often book those things right at the day they're available unless it's particularly hard to get so I don't have to do that math often.

Those are all 60 calendar days, right? Which trips people up when they count 2 calendar months and forget that some months have 31 days.

So how would you set it up - if we can’t have 12 month booking, which would be the easiest!

Yeah 60 days. I meant count the 1st when the prior month has 30 days rather than 31. Not match the 11 month window.

Umm, think about that - so 11 months for December 1 would be December 1, but 11 months for January 1 would be December 31? What would 11 months for January 2 be?

January 1. Thats why I compared it to dining because they do not skip days you always account for the months having 31 days. But TBH any other thing Ive ever done you factor in 31st day and also account when there is a leap year. Not sure if you have ever booked Aulani but for everything you book there you count the days. So they dont match up 15h for the 15th it will vary based on the days in the month.

Yes, you count days for everything that’s 60 days (used to be 180 days to book dining, or 120 days to book something I can’t remember what, and that was really confusing to calculate), because it’s so many days in advance. I thought you wanted the DVC booking window that’s based on months, not on days, to somehow vary depending on whether a month had 31 days or not, due to your confusion about being able to book a DVC reservation for November 30 on December 30 but not being able to book a DVC reservation for December 1 on the day after December 30.

Yeah I was confused because I never would have ever thought they just pause or "skip" a booking day I would've bet money it would work just like booking anything else. Now I know. But I still think it's strange. Yes much easier than calculating the days for sure though.

One of the rare members with 4 contracts to same resort? Does sound strange how it pulled.
