Old Key West experts

Let me guess, Bldg 29 maybe? That was the only one we ever stayed in where the porch was completely surrounded by vegetation.

Sorry you had problems with the bus, but in all our stays (at least eight or nine) we've never had a problem with the bus system. Maybe we've just been lucky.

No, you haven't just been lucky, Deb. We have always had great bus service, and we have stayed at OKW more times than I can remember.

As for the hemmed in balcony....If you are talking about a studio, yes the ground floor studios can often be hemmed in with vegatation. If you mean a 1 or 2 bedroom, most of those have very nice views with the exception of building 29 mentioned by Deb. We don't usually request anything at OKW unless we really want to have something special. Our favorite area is South Point, and our favorite buildings are 45 and 46. We also like the Miller's Road buildings....great views. Of course, if you NEED a second door to the master bath, you want building 30 or higher.

:rotfl: It was 28 or 29, can't remember.

I'm ok with a firm mattress, but I think there was more "give" on the concrete porch.

LOL! I assume your stay was at least a couple of years ago. The new beds are now in most of the units, and they are more of a pillow top type, so much better than those old ones were. I used to complain about the concrete beds too, but they are much better now.

Nope! just stayed in December. I know it wasn't just me cuz we traded beds with my sister and she said the same thing.

Well, I must be lucky because all of the villas I've had since 2007 at OKW, the king in the masters have been new and so very comfortable. Back in 2000 it was like sleeping on a board!

Yes, that has been our experience too. Kikiv, It wouldn't matter if it was 28 or 29. Those are the two worst views in the whole resort. It might be better on the top floor, but first floor is not good. If it was 29, you might have been under a GV too, and that can be brutal!
