we are coming over from the UK again this summer and after watching the programme diners drive ins and dives we have been inspired to try places to eat ouside WDW and the usual chains. Can anyone suggest any good places including any old fashioned diners? Where do you like to eat, all suggestions welcomed. Thank you very much catrin.

Hope you can find one, but the real thing is harder to find than the television show would suggest. I don't even know of any where I live, let alone in the heavily touristy Orlando area.

Try Angels on Rt192 in Kissimmee. Diner theme but buffet. We have been there twice and it is pretty good. Cracker Barrell is also on 192, not bad either. The closest to real diner food I have found is the 50s Primetime Diner At Hollywood Studios. Nothing like Diners, Drive inns and Dives though...lol

If you want a non-chain play that sorts of captures the feel, try Woodsbys, on State Road 17/92 in Kissimmee (not the touristy part of Kissimme, the part that still has cows).

There are a few places like that around, but you're not going to find them all that close to WDW.

Orlando is such a new city that I doubt there are any traditional diners around. Orlando was a very small town until the 70's when Disney came. I like the B-Line Diner which is located in the Peabody Hotel. It is not a cheap place to eat but serves high quality food 24 hrs. a day.

The Village Inn
:lmao::lmao:

Just check for it on the internet. But I read that some of the nominated places were Beefy King and Hot Dog Heaven.

Funny he's been to my little state many times, as have Bobby Flay, Rachel etc. Lots of great places to eat here in the SW.

In my mind, the three chains mentioned, the Village Inn, Steak & Shake, and Johnny Rockets, just don't qualify. They are diner wantabes. I do admit I haven't been to a Village Inn in decades.
