Old Disney Park photos

I've been dying to find some old photos of the Disney Inn (or Golf Resort, as it was named prior to that). Do you have any more to share?

Wow! I stayed at the Golf Resort LONG ago. I even shook Johnny Miller's hand. I didn't think anybody ever heard of THAT resort any more.

great thread! I feel so young, haha. I can't believe there were ninja turtles at WDW, cool!

I will have to look but a lot of the pictures from that time were left with him and any ones that I took with me, I only kept the ones that had just me or were of things.

I have a few pics from my trip in 1991 but I can't figure out how to post them. Once I do that, they're all yours!

I'm glad you asked about this pic.... I was wondering the same thing. The buildings off in the far background, are those Frontierland? Like Pecos Bill area?

I LOVE these old park photos!! Seening what it looked like before and today.

Yes this is a picture from up on the hill in the que looking down and to the right towards Frontierland. This picture was taken in 1986 or 1987 I can't figure out which but Splash Mountain will not but built until 1992. So that's why it's not in the photo. :)

I found this photo with me in it ..... and the pink "thing" :scared1:

I remember that "pink thing" very well! It was our first visit to WDW in March 1997 and we were so disappointed not to see the castle (or how it looks without all the icing). We had a fabulous 10 days there tho so can't complain ;)

Great pics Jedi. Fond memories of The Living Seas (before Nemo). Got any of my favorite ride Horizons??

I'm most dissapointed about this. Horizons was my favorite but neither my dad or I, later when I started taking pictures has any of Horizons. I was lucky and surprized that I had pictures of World of Motion and Communicore. But yes sadly no Horizons. :(

OH yes I had fond memories of the Living Seas. I used to like to watch that show with the Greek god Atlas about plate techtonics. And the robot Jason. Those were great. Actualy the last time I got to see those was 2003.

Here are a few - I need help with some....March 1974...

Is this Main Street?? My mom has it labeled "Marketplace" in the album...

This is labeled "Omnibus" - anyone remember this? It looks like there are people riding in it...

FL74d0001.jpg

Um....all I can say is that I'm SO GLAD I'm not in these pictures!! Yes that's really my dad with the groovy glasses, and my brother with his plaid bell bottoms - and what the heck is around their necks - old Kodak cameras?? Binoculars?????

This was outside of the Train Station according to the writing...doesn't look familiar to me - is it Frontierland??

FL74c0001.jpg

Gotta love those plaid pants - wait -I think he has on a white polyester turtleneck T-shirt too! :rotfl2:

Just by a quick glance, looks like it is Main Street, but one of the "side areas" off Main Street. The "omnibus" is the double-decker bus that strolled from the front of the park to the castle. The building behind the bus looks like one of the refreshment / snack stands in front of the castle.

That would be the Frontier Land train depot. The reason it looks different from now is because that train stop was moved to accomodiate for Splash Mountain.

Thanks for the info!

Fast Forward 13 years to Epcot....hey dad lost the groovy glasses...but gained a Members Only jacket!!! :lmao: Now I am the one with the groovy shades (in the red shirt with the collar up), and yes those are yellow high top Reebok sneakers - SO the rage in 1987!
