Oops. No cause for alarm. Sorry. Everything is fine. It's just our mini van is older than dirt and on it's last legs.
It simply cannot make the trek across the desert and mountains from Vegas to CA.

We knew that and were planning to rent one but when I checked prices they were really high. :headache: So unless they come down or we get some sort of deal, I won't make it. If we can find a good price, we'll be there for sure. I just didn't want to keep my name on the lists just in case, kwim?

Maybe we'll win the lotto and get a new van between now and then. ;)

Beth- This is depressing news. I cannot hear this!

We have a Durango. I think it seats about 8 adults.

We can pick you all up.:thumbsup2

Yes--as part of the bidding process you specify what size/type of vehicle you want. I wanted a full-size and that's what I got. I originally bid -- I think $15 a day--it came back and said no, but if I bid $17 a day I might get it. I bid $16 and National ok'd it.
Really? Well shoot, I might just try Priceline then. Thanks!

Oh Beth, let's work it out. This really was about you! What about just you on a plane? Southwest has $49 fares on the right days.

If I can suggest, keep your name on the lists for now and use the time to see what happens. :genie:
Uh, I don't fly. :rolleyes1
But I don't think Heather is going to take my name off anyway. :rotfl:

I have a family of six remember? And you are three. We'd be one short. Unless we are strapping one of the kids to the roof. ;)
Seriously, thanks for the offer.

I guess like Donna said, I'll just wait and see. If anyone hears of any rental specials, let me know. :goodvibes

*hanging head in shame*

I took your name off...it's not that I gave up on you, it's just that I have a huge need to please trait, and didn't want to upset you. :sad2:

Just say the word, and I'll have your name back up there so fast, your stripper shoes will catch on fire! :rotfl:

Heather, can you do me a favor and take my name off the lists for October? I don't think we are going to make it after all. Thanks!! :) It's a great time to be in the parks, y'all are going to have a wonderful time. :cool1:

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Well this is sad. But I completely understand where you're coming from.

Like Cheryl, we used Priceline to get a mini van for our WDW trip and it worked great. We got an 8 passenger van for $40/per day. You might be able to get it cheaper than that. We were there during spring break and I think there were a lot of families wanting van.

But I'll look out for deals for you, because I really want you to come :).

Oh, I didn't know you didn't fly!

Heather, she said just there, she'll wait. So put her name back. That will please her.

:thumbsup2

I want to see if DH wants to try something like that. We do BaB here during Christmas. It is a good idea. Maybe i can take her there to get one of her stuffed animals a Disney outfit. I want to do something special for her bday...I guess a trip to DL should be enough.:rotfl:

I am definitely taking her to BBB. We never took her to the one at WDW. She was only 2. Now, I know she will be thrilled with getting made-up. I am thinking of possibly telling Goofy's that it is her bday, so she can feel special.

Is that okay with the Goofy group? lol! I can always make our ressie separate if there is already a bday celebration going. I can' keep up with all the action on this thread.
When I called to make PS at Goofy's for my DS's birthday, I mentioned that to the CM. When we arrived, they already had balloons tied to his chair. I thought that was a really nice touch. :yay: And of course, when the CM's and the Mad Hatter came over with a Mickey cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to him, well, that was just too priceless. :) Definitely tell them ahead of time that is your DD's birthday. I think they really make the kids feel special there. :) BTW, that pic of her is too precious!....What a cutie! :cutie:

*hugs* for beth

Hey beth, i don't blame you! I can drive my car really fast but it doesn't fly! And..and... think how heavy planes are .. hhhmmmm... it doesn't make sense that it can stay up in the air.

As you can see, i don't like to fly but i do alllll the time cuz i live so far away from everything.:rotfl:

I just went back & read the schedule on the first page......it looks like so much fun!!! I really hope we've relocated by then.....I want to participate & meet you all!!!!
You have us down as maybes & I'll definately keep you updated on that. I would be interested in probably everything but the tour (I'm a big scaredy-cat....not sure that would be my cup of tea). I'm also not sure exactly how many would be with me....depending on work schedules & such..... Add one more person down for the maybe list & that would be my son who will 20 at that time (since he'd be moving down with us).

I oh so want to be at Disneyland for this & the holidays!!!!!! :yay:

Well bummer Beth. I hope things workout for you and your family. Car issues just suck.

That is way cool!

But, but, but.....if my stripper shoes burn, I'll really never be able to afford the rental!

 No worries Heather. Thanks for keeping up with with this thread. ;)

That is a good deal. Now that I know I can use Priceline, I'm a little more at ease. Don't know why I didn't think of it before. I've used it for hotels. :confused3 I just assumed you couldn't pick which vehicle you wanted like you can't pick your hotel. Guess it's true what they say about assuming anything.....:rolleyes1

Yes, Beth no likey to fly. Planes are bumpy & scary & very high up in the air. I'm not making fun of you Beth .
It's true! Flying is skeery!! :scared1: I'd need lots of happy pills to get me on a plane again.

Awww, that's great. I bet your DS had a blast. :goodvibes

There ya go. That's what I'm saying.

I hope you can make it Laurie! :wizard:

Try Hotwire as well, I've gotten a car through them, you just have to keep checking.

Heather, I know that's it's a full time job just to keep up, so I apologize in advance 'cause I screwed up when telling you where to add me to the lists.

I need to be added to the MTOTP at DCA and then you can remove me from the bottom of the Goofy's list as I am already listed higher up.

Sorry for being such a pain... you are doing a great job with this!:lovestruc

Are you sure you don't want to go to Goofy's twice? Or eat twice as much? :rotfl:

I'll fix it. No problem!

Beth, I'm still waiting for you to tell me you're back on!

Hey, would everyone be good with doing Goofy's around 10am?

I really want to be able to use our MM, and spend a few hours in the park before it (hopefully) gets too busy. I'm worried it's going to look like Beth's pictures in the afternoon. :scared1:

Also, this would save us some money because it would be brunch and then we'd be good until the BBQ at 5pm (which Beth WILL be at!).

I can't wait! :woohoo:

Oh, and those doing the tour...were you thinking Thursday night or Sunday night? Thanks!

Sounds good to me!

I think it sounds very good....both meals will be big & filling & so planning on just doing the 2 of them at 10 & 5 seem perfect.....
