Old Boyfriend contacted me on FB

Please keep us posted on your decision. I saw an old BF on Facebook and never am tempted to contact him. He has 2003 friends!

Trust your gut on this guy. It's not worth the possible cost to your marriage.

OP, you say you've been married for 20 years. Do you want to make it to 30? If you do, don't tempt fate.

Its just a friend request. Jeesh. Not asking to have drinks late at night. :rotfl2:

You can always set your privacy levels so you can control exactly what he sees.

I only friend people I know & people I have met. I have specific privacy settings & different friend lists to control privacy. I'm pretty careful. And I have old flames as friends.

Actually, I have another take on it...I friended an old boyfriend, one I always had thoughts about and one I always wondered about. Even dreamt about. And honestly, it was the best thing I have done...through our contact, I've realized he's not what I want, it made me more honest with my husband, the dreams and fantasies about the old boyfriend went away...it answered questions I have always wondered about. So, it's not always bad...it's all about how you handle things.

I really mean this nicely and know sometimes how we read text in an e-mail can be interrupted differently, so please know I am saying it nicely:

You have your picture and your families posted on this site and say you are from Chicago and now giving us information about your old BF and FB. Do you think that is fair to your kids and your dh. Maybe I know you or maybe I know your husband? Should I say something?

Would you like your dh to be posting this and have you and your kids pictures so all can see when talking about something like this? I wouldn't.

Would you print out your post and show it to your husband? If not, why?
What good can come out of this if you keep it up and end up talking and meeting.

I've been married for 20 years, this September, and I can tell you the last thing on my mind is finding an old boyfriend that may lead to something. :rotfl2:
If you feel the need, maybe you should be talking to your husband since something may be missing.
Please let us know how it works out (or hopefully doesn't).
