Inspired by the other thread about non-disney animation. It got me thinking about some animation shows that I watched during my childhood. Any of you older ladies/gents want to go back in time a little? Does anyone remember the Christmas shows like "Here comes Suzie Snowflake" or "The littlest angel". There must have been more. How about other cartoon shows like Gerald Mc Boing, boing and Crusader rabbit? If you're too young to remember (and I'm sure many of you are) ask your mothers/fathers.

Groosch!! Here's sum of my 'older' favorites
Dern't tell Mickey;)

Of those pictures, the only one I can name is Top Cat. The penguin looks familiar but can't think of the name, I know it's not Chilly Willy. And I know I watched that laughing dog, and the name is on the tip of my tongue but won't come out. Definately didn't watch the one with the kid in diapers.
Come on, give the names.

OMG!! I'm dat'in myself!! :teeth:

Tennessee Tuxedo. [9/28/63 - 12/17/66].

#2 Top Cat
Inspired by hit '50s TV comedy series The Phil Silvers Show (1955-1959) and the exploits of Ernest Bilko and his workshy motor-pool platoon, Hanna Barbera's Top Cat premiered in 1961 and ran for 30 episodes.

#3 Secret Squirrel
Yet another Hanna-Barbera classic. Secret Squirrel (or sometimes refered to as SS or Secret Agent 000), and his undercover companian Morocco Mole fight crime in a way that, well, only cartoon characters can... with that ultimate weapon, corny jokes.
Armed with only a purple hat and a white overcoat that both conceal a variety of strange, but secret weapons, he rounds up the most devilishly clever villains in the world.

#4 The Odd Ball Couple
Based on the famous Broadway play and television series, the 'Odd Couple', this cartoon pairs up a cat and dog who live together and deal with each others habits.

#5 Muttley

fame...a number of spin -offs too

#6 The Mighty Heros
The Mighty Heroes were a tongue-in-cheek team of super beings whose abilities were suggested by their names: Strong Man had enormous strength; Rope Man had a body made out of rope; Tornado Man could transform himself into a tornado; Diaper Man was a baby who could speak and think like a full-grown adult; and then there was Cuckoo Man, who aside from his imaginative bird-like costume seemed to serve no purpose other than getting caught by evil villains.

Superpowers aside, the main asset the Heroes had was teamwork. In each episode, the gang was forced to work together in order to battle evil foes like The Junker, The Monsterizer, and The Shrinker.

Legendary animator Ralph Bakshi, the innovator behind such movies as American Pop, The Lord of the Rings, and Cool World, created The Mighty Heroes for Terrytoons as a replacement for The Mighty Mouse Playhouse.

The show was Ralph Bakshi’s way to spoof the superhero craze that had taken over television at the time. His creation combined two things every kid liked: superheroics and wacky comedy. Compared with the stiffness of Superman and the other Justice League members, The Mighty Heroes were a breath of fresh air on Saturday morning.

In case yer interested #4 The Oddball Couple....
DePatie-Freleng’s The Oddball Couple was an animated version of Neil Simon’s popular play-turned-movie-turned hit TV show The Odd Couple. In the cartoon version, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison were replaced by a cat named Spiffy and a dog named Fleabag. Spiffy, as his name implies, was the more orderly of the two, while Fleabag was always a shambles.

In the show, which premiered the same year that prime time's The Odd Couple went off the air, Spiffy and Fleabag worked as freelance reporters. Along with their secretary Goldie, the two polar opposites shared an office together, making for a very comical environment. They were also roommates, which was evident when they were shown at home—50% of their place was spotless and the other 50% was a dogsty.

The wacky hijinks of this mismatched duo didn't earn the fan following of Simon's creation, and The Oddball Couple parted ways after two seasons.
