OKW

As above, only a few OKW buildings have elevators. If a guest has mobility issues and can't climb stairs, it's best to reserve a HA unit. That's the only way to guarantee either ground floor or elevator building.
I will say that OKW really tries to accommodate the first floor request, and honestly, in about 6 stays with first floor request, the request was met every time. However, as the average age of the OKW owner increases, that request gets more frequent and therefore harder to fill. I've heard recently of people who needed first floor, who were unable to have that need filled. It's probably harder in the Hospitality House category, which only has 8 buildings, so less flexibility than the standard category. We never tried to request first floor except in the standard category.

I'm an OKWer and I generally ask for non-first-floor rooms... mostly though so I don't have footfalls overhead. Maybe there's some balance that way.

I definitely prefer 2nd floor (or higher depending on resort) - for me, it's more about having some relative sense of privacy on the balcony. I never like staying on ground level and seeing people walking past my windows and balcony at eye level. It's not as bad at OKW though since the patio areas just face golf courses, lakes, or trees - not sidewalks or pathways.

Old Key West buildings are mostly 2-stories, with some 3-story buildings.
Aren't the buildings that are 3 story the same buildings that have grand villas in them? The only villa that has a grand villa that begins on the first floor is Building 48, which has a HA GV.

Some 3 story buildings are for the 2-story Grand Villas, but there are some that have the 3 stories with 2-bed and 1-bed villas on the 3rd floor - like 62 and 23 for example.

Thank you for answering all of my questions 🤣 there are some limited mobility concerns with extended family and I would love to do a family trip here considering everyone says the 2 bedrooms are huge and even the grand villas are affordable by comparison to other resorts.

My cousin said she would like the chance for a better view on a higher floor if there arent too many stairs Or floors
