Howdy All,
We're going back to our home at OKW, in Oct 21' how normal do you suppose it will be?

It is almost normal now except for the masks. I would imagine in Oct next year that herd immunity will have kicked in and things will be quite normal.

Was thinking more in terms of the vaccine ,certainly not herd immunity, but I'm not going there.

We're scheduled for 5 nights at BRV and 8 nights at OKW in October 2021. I know wearing a mask on the plane and at the parks will be a nightmare for me...I'm praying we're done with that! I haven't bought park tickets and won't for awhile. We'll turn it into a pool/resort trip if that's the case. See you there!

10/11-18 with 2 of our kids and their partners. If you're there let's put faces to our names and have an adult beverage.

Bummer as we arrive 10/23!!!!!! Too bad as there is another disboarder I am still hoping might be there with family and we plan to get together if we are all there. DH and I are going as our son and DIL are still "iffy". I got a 2 BR Lock off just in case! Party! :rockband:

You are so lucky. We were planning to visit in August 2021 but the borders are still closed so we daren't reserve room or flights yet, so I'm living the dream vicariously on Disboards.
Are. you Canadian? I personally think we'll be out of the woods by then, which is why October feels good.

I'm hoping things will be near normal next Thanksgiving, and I think it will be with some reports of the vaccines already arriving in the States awaiting approval and distribution.

I think people are over estimating how many people are going to get a vaccine as well as companies putting a vaccine requirement in place.

There are doctors out there right now talking about how patients might not come back for the second dose because of the side effects and you need both for it to take effect supposedly.

We will see more info I guess in coming months.

No, I'm from the UK. It's not only the ESTA that's the problem. I'm an NHS nurse so it's completely frowned upon to go anywhere that demands a quarantine on return to the UK, and with the Government changing the rules at short notice it's a gamble. I am hoping that the vaccine will stop this but no one can predict when we'll get back to normal, and I've given up guessing.

I understand ,I'm 66 and was a Respiratory Therapist until April. I retired just 8 months earlier than I planned. But no complaints.

My son's hospital has the deep freezers in place and he's thinking they will be getting on line fairly soon. I'm hoping we are all vaccinated by next fall! Skipping a year at our advanced age (we're 60+) is sad but we added on five contracts so we are ready for as many trips as we can get in before we are too old.

Everyone stay well and hang in there!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! Great news!!!!!!!!

They live in TX  and meeting at WDW works out so well. We had planned for two weeks at F & W 2020 and Thanksgiving in TX, neither of which worked out obviously. I guess the only saving grace is we had extra $$ to buy more contracts...

And now starting next year you can winter in WDW. My wife and I have joked about spending a month in winter some year.

My hospital is scheduled to get it this week and they said we should be starting to get the vaccine Thurs/Fri. They said getting to general population would probably be June/July. I am in TX as well

What I hear is that “it depends”...

If it’s just Pfizer, it could be awhile, it Moderna’s is approved this week, it would speed things up, but if the Johnson & Johnson one is approved (current Expectation is an EUA filing in Jan 21 if things continue well), that could be a game changer as it is a one-shot vaccine and it is more scalable...
