Hey guys I am kinda new to DVC renting and would like to know what you all thought about the OKW studios? How does it compare to the others in the DVC, or the Disney resorts themselves? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the renting DVC I am planning my honeymoon and want to make the most of the money we have to spend!!!!

If you book a studio at OKW I would requesting one on an upper floor. There is no view from the balcony on the ground floor. We love the laid back atmosphere of this resort.

You may also want to consider BCV/BWV due to the location and atmosphere.
OKW is nice-just a different feel.

OKW's one, two, and three bedroom villas are the shining stars of DVC, in my opinion. There aren't any other resorts that match the size and romantic feel of these villas. If you like a quiet, laid-back atmosphere, you will enjoy OKW. If you like more activity, then you would probably like BW better, with ESPN the piano bar, and the dance hall.

If you can, I would suggest getting a one bedroom, and enjoy the whirpool tub for 2.

OKW is great if you are renting a car, because you can park close to your room! I absolutely love this. The rooms are also much larger than other DVC rooms.

However, if you are going with a studio, you will only need one queen bed, and OKW gives you 2. Other locations give you a queen and a sleeper sofa.

Anywhere in the "world" you stay, you are sure to have a great time!

Oh, and if you are renting, you will be able to add the dining plan on without having to buy park passes! get those cheaper through www.mousesavers.com (sign up for their newsletter for the best deals)!

IF you are looking for a more romantic vacation OKW is the best. My previous favorite was POR & FQ because of the atmosphere. All the other activities are close at hand but when you come "Home" you find the tranquility one needs to have for a romantic evening.

I love OKW but if your just getting a studio i would stay at another DVC resort. OKW has 2 queen size beds, the other dvc has a queen size bed and a pullout sofa. I find the sofa more convenient than 2 queenies. However if you can afford the points get a 1 bedroom at OKW for they are the best for 1,2, and grand villa rooms. They are larger than the others. Alos you can't beat the laod back atmosphere there. Very peacful.

Considering it's going to be your honeymoon (congrats to you ), I may opt for a studio at one of the other DVC resorts based on the fact that you don't need 2 beds (and I love OKW as well !). Having the sleeper couch instead would probably suit you better as it'll give you more floor space. As for the ambience, I think any of the DVC resorts would be nice.

How does it compare to the others in the DVC, or the Disney resorts themselves?

Compared to the other disney resorts, the DVC studios at BWV, BCV, SSR and VWL will give you a queen bed and a sleeper sofa vs two beds. Also, the DVC studios are more akin to the deluxe wdw resorts in that you get a small balcony. The DVC difference is also that you'll have a small kitchenette area (sink/small frig/microwave). All the DVC resorts offer onsite room service with the exception of OKW. But you can get offsite room service there.

I love OKW, but if you are going for a honeymoon, don't get a studio at OKW. You will have a huge bathroom, but 2 beds in the room, and that makes it a bit more difficult to find space for two people to move around. I would either rent a 1 bedroom at OKW to take advantage of the huge master with the king bed and huge 2 person Jacuzzi. Also, there is nothing more romantic than sitting out on your private veranda with the ceiling fan going, sipping a nice drink.
