OKW WALKING TRAIL QUESTION

Hello All,
We are staying for the first time at OKW, in the beginning of August. I understand that the boats to Disney Springs are not currently running. Is there a walkway from OKW to Springs, and how far and long is that walk? Is it a realistic option? I know we can take a bus, but we really love seeing the waterways on that boat trip.

There is a walkway, that is by the south point quiet pool. You follow the river, cross over a bridge to SSR (not where the Treehouse Villas are) and cut through SSR to Disney Springs. Instead of crossing that bridge, you used to be able to cut through a parking lot and would enter by the Cirque du Soleil building.

Now with the temperature checkpoints, they funneled you to the entrance by Earl of Sandwich but that might be different now. You may be able to enter by the Christmas store.

I think it‘s maybe around 1.5 to 2 miles, maybe? I’m not really good at remembering distance. It’s also only dawn to dusk. We enjoyed the walk but definitely not when it’s hot.

We’ve done this trek a couple of times but normally not in the heat. It is a nice walk. I think it took about 25-30mins

Disney removed all temperature screenings a while back. Not sure if any other screening is occurring.

It's a nice walk before the heat hits.We've done it many times pre covid.Will probably do it again come October.

We almost walked that path from SSR to OKW when we were going to Olivia's, but then we got up late and drove instead. It looks like you might need to be on alert for golf balls on that path.

Maybe a little when you get to the bridge to go to SSR, if someone hits a ball 15 yards over the green. We never felt the need to be on alert. I think you can just walk to the west end of DS now by the House of Blues. No need to go over the bridge and through SSR.

Edited to add: Should go without saying but since you are in FL near a waterway, keep an eye out for snakes and gators...

Thank you, everyone! I am getting so excited about this upcoming trip… it is our first time back since Covid!!!

That path is correct up until you get to Disney Springs. As of last week you couldn’t walk directly in but had to continue walking around the parking lot to the bus stop, then walk over to the Cirque tent and go through security to enter there. So it made it a bit longer.

It’s a nice walk. Just be aware you can’t do it after “dusk” because the part from the treehouses to OKW isn’t lit.

Probably when the Port Orleans resorts open and they hire some skippers.

I would be fairly frustrated as a SSR and OKW owner.
