Needed Nov 4 a Sunday in a studio at OKW for a three nite stay. I checked the DVC website and it did not come through, then went to my e-mail and from DVC my reservation was there, so I read it and think it must be wrong since it is showing Nov. 4 as my arrival date. I go back to DVC and yes it was now there. Very happy to not have to change resorts. So Disney and then Vero for 4 nites. This will be my first DVC trip since having double knee replacement so I am looking forward to being able to do more than on previous trips.

Great news! Congrats and have a wonderful time. All the best on your continued recuperation!

CM probably sent you the email before he/she finished working the waitlist match.

Glad the waitlist worked for you - I think that week is very popular with DVC members. Best wishes for a very, very good result for the knee replacements!

Congrats on the waitlist coming thru and on the 2 new knees!! My dad had double replacement surgery just 2 days ago!!! We went to Disney together last September and I am looking forward to him possibly joining us next year and having a better time than before!!!

New knees does make for a better vacation. I had my second knee done at the end of October and am looking forward to F&W in October.

Congratulations!!! A year from Oct I will have my two new knees, and I'm soooooo looking forward to being able to walk without pain!! I'm having my first knee done in November, and the second in February. My OS said he'd do both at the same time, but didn't recommend it, because I wouldn't have a "good leg to stand on". :rotfl:

My first knee replacement will be right after our F & W trip...I'm giving in this trip and renting an ECV, I'm so tired of feeling like I'm dragging us down.

Anyway, I'd love to hear about any of your experiences with knee replacement! If you work, how long were you out of work? When did you start feeling like "normal" again? Yeah, I've done a lot of research on the internet, but would love to hear from a DISer 1st hand. I'm only 52, so I'm looking forward to many, many, years of fun walking pain-free around Disney!!

Congratulations! And I echo wishes for a successful knee replacement!

I can't wait to see how I do in Nov with two new knees. Thanks to everyone for all the good wishes. I am 54 years old and had them done May 15 so I am about 5 weeks. The right knee is doing great but the left knee is going a littlt slower. I was walking with a cane at the start of week 3, which they say is good. I stayed in rehab for a week which I recommend. I do not work so can't tell you about that. The arthritis pain is gone which is quite amazing. Every week gets better and overall it is not too bad. The first week is the worst, but I am very glad I did both, I would not want to go through surgery and rehab two times. I don't agree with the one good leg to stand on, since both knees are getting done and both are bad, especially once you stand on two new knees you sse the difference immediately. My surgeon would rather you get both together. He feels you will favor the knee not done and walk wrong.

I rented a scooter for our last four trips (all in the past year) and it was a great help. I am hoping to be able to walk around WS for F&W in Nov, which would be great. We are then heading to Vero and I know I will be better on this trip then on previous ones, since I did not have a scooter in Vero on other trips it was very difficult to get around.
