OKW v's SSR

Anyone been to both OKW and SSR....narrowed it down to those two due to the current offers for Sept 2012...upgrade to deluxe dining plan but cannot decide between the two...never been to either....currently OKW is winning as seems more family friendly and has restaurant for breakfast which I can't see at SSR...any adivce guys????

We love SSR but havent been to the other one. We really like the home from home feel and the closeness to DTD.

You can get breakfast and there is a sit down area to eat it. We didnt eat ours there - we took it back to our villa.

Only stayed at OKW(August will be 3rd time) we wanted 2 double beds(SSR is 1 bed and 1 sofa bed)
I don't like SSR as much but thats only the resort itself not the rooms as I have not been in one at SSR.
OKW rooms are bigger and just had a refurb, SSR is a newer resort.

I have visited them both. Personally I prefer OKW by a margin, not a massive margin, but there is a wedge!.

My reasons are that OKW rooms are much bigger and better appointed (other than studios which are much the same) OKW is much prettier and laid back with a holiday feel. SSR seems a bit clinical and business like. The quick service cafe at SSR is a total zoo and to be avoided in the mornings. OKW's quick service is not great but definitely easier to use. OKW also has Olivia's which is simply a great place to eat. SSR's turf club is too stuffy for me.
Finally, as I use DVC points, incredibly OKW is actually cheaper. As a result they only reason to stay at SSR is for the treehouses. Otherwise I would only stay at SSR if there was nowhere else.

Now thats not to say it is in anyway bad, its still awesome, just slightly less awesome than OKW for my money.

We chose OKW studio as it had 2 beds so suited the 3 of us better than a bed settee, newly refurbished and the theme appealed.

Would stay again no hesitation.

Thanks for all the great info....after reading all the links think I'm gonna go with my gut and try OKW....if only it were this year tho
