OKW v. Deluxe Resort

My kids were 12, 8 and 6 when we went to OKW last Dec/Jan and they had a blast. There's lots to do there activity-wise. The kids had fun in the pool (though it's not as "exciting" as BWV or others with slides). They played in the sand. Borrowed movies from the community room. We all loved the spacious room. We used the buses and it worked just fine. I didn't think the buses worked less efficiently at OKW than other resorts - we didn't use a car and were glad to not have the hassle of doing our own driving and maneuvering around all of the WDW loops. The kids get such a kick out of riding on the ("school") bus :D . We aren't the types to dash out to the parks first thing in the a.m. and come back on the last bus load so maybe the buses are different at those times - we wouldn't know. I'm sure you and your little ones would have a wonderful time like we did.

One good thing about a car--you can go somewhere else (other than straight back to your resort) after going to the MK.

Last May, we took the car to the TTC about 10:30am. I timed it, from our front door at OKW to the TTC, tram, monorail to MK front gate was 25 minutes. We took the bus a couple of nights before, we had to wait for the bus at Turtle Pond for at least 10 minutes, stopped at South Point, Miller Road, HH and then to MK, I didn't time it but no way it was less than 25 minutes. It was jam packed, everyone was going for Spectromagic & fireworks. After that, we took the car.

No offense, but this is a poor example. You are comparing going at mid-morning with going in the evening to see Spectromagic and Fireworks. Plus you didn't even time it. Plus, I guarantee it took much, much longer to drive back that night than take the bus

My advice to everyone who drives. Keep doing it. More room on the bus for me.
