OKW upgrades?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm new and a bit lost.

Has anyone ever asked for and gotten an upgrade at OKW? I'll be in a studio in October, and I'm wondering if there is even a remote possibility of getting a 1-bedroom at check in. Has it been done before? It's no big deal if this is impossible, but I'm just curious and thought you guys would be the ones to ask.

If you mean could you pay the points for a studio and be upgraded to a one-bedroom...the answer is no. If you mean could you ask for a one-bedroom if available and then use the points to make up the difference...the answer is yes.

Upgrades at any DVC are given only under very extreme circumstances (water damage makes no studio available or some other crisis). That's the only way to be fair to all members.

We got an upgrade from a studio to a 1 bedroom when we were staying on points in a 1 bedroom for five nights and one cash night in a studio. We got the 1 bedroom instead of the studio for the price of the studio. Then we didn't have to move when our stay on points started.

We were at OKW for the first time in March. We had booked a studio, but after one night in it, we decided we wanted a 1-bedroom for the rest of our stay. I called the front desk, and asked if a 1-bedroom was available, and, if so, could we upgrade using points. The front desk had a 1-bedroom available, and contacted MS about the extra points. MS then called us to confirm our point usage. The new room happened to be ready (this occurred at about 9 a.m.) and we moved over. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating about our request, and we had a great trip.
