OKW to studios? And Toy Story Mania?

We are having a great stay at OKW! Great resort- our first time here. Love our 2 bdrm in Turtle Pond.

Our home resort is BWV. Typically when we stay there we walk to both EPCOT and the Studios. Tomorrow we are heading to the Studios- and because we fly home tomorrow evening we were thinking we'd drive over so that we don't have to do the bus back to OKW to get our rental car.
We're wondering how long it will take door to gate to drive, park, and walk into the park tomorrow morning for rope drop time?

Also- if anyone has a guesstimate as to how quickly we need to get to Toy Story Mania to get fast passes in the morning so that we can ride before we leave at 4:00- that info would also be great to have. Today we got fast passes for Soarin at 9:45am with a return time of 2:33pm.

To drive from OKW to MGM is about 5 minutes. Depending on how busy it is, parking could be another 5 minutes. Then depending on how close you are to the gate, you can walk from the parking lot to the gate or catch a trolley, that make take 5 - 10 minutes.

Head right to toy story mania & maybe you may be lucky enough to get fast passes before you leave. They go very fast & even getting there early may not get you a fast pass till late in the day. Good Luck.

I would give yourselves 45 minutes.

It's not a long drive but there are several traffic lights long the way which can take a while to cycle. Then you will have lines to deal with at the parking lot entrance, waiting to park the car, waiting for a tram, security bag checks and at the turnstiles themselves.

From the moment you leave your villa, I'm guessing 20-25 minutes to be parked DHS. Then another 15-20 minutes to take the tram and actually get into the park.

You should plan to be there at rope drop to guarantee a fast pass. You won't believe how long the fast pass line will be. You also could go at rope drop and just get in the stand-by line.

We find the bus is faster than driving on the way there. The rub is that you might have to wait to take the bus back to OKW. We usually arrive at DHS so we are close up in the line outside the gate. Then we position ourselves close to the rope where they block it off at the street. When they drop the rope, one of us walks quickly with the passes to the fast pass while the other gets in the toy story line. That allows us to ride twice before 10:00.

Taxi's are a lot cheaper than you'd think.
