i should request stuido location. i am a new dvc member at ssr,i

There really aren't any "bad" areas at OKW, so many people don't worry about requesting a certain location. If there is something special that you would like to be near (bus stop, quiet pool, main pool area... ) you could ask for a room near one of those areas. If you have a specific request for your room (first floor, top floor, smoking/non smoking) you could also request that.

Will you have a car with you or are you renting a car? If not, you may want to request to be near the Hospitality house -- this is where you'll check-in, where the main pool and resturaunt are and community hall and the playground/recreational stuff will be as well as where to catch the boat to DTD and a bus stop.

If you'll have a car, you can park right outside your villa so you'd be able to just hop in your car to ride down to the HH and main area if you wanted to. Other than that, if you want to be close to a bus stop or pool -- just request it (there are hot tubs at all the pools in OKW btw). There's really no bad locations for staying in a studio that I've found.

Have a great trip!;)

We just returned from a WONDERFUL week at OKW. We wanted a studio that was in a quiet location & near a pool....we got it! We had a first-floor studio in building 55. I loved the location because our balcony had a gorgeous view of the waterway, and we were literally just steps from our pool/hot tub. It's a quiet location.

Some may consider it to be too far from the main shops and restaurant, but the distance was fine with us. It was only a two or three minute drive to get to Olivia's & the main pool area.

I will request building 55 for all my upcoming trips!

Your kids are the same age mine were when we went last year, and I requested near the Hospitality House, non smoking. We stayed in a GV so was not able to ask for first floor, but it wasn't too bad with the kids to drag them up the stairs! I believe we were in bldg 16 and our view was of the golf course.

The studios at OKW are on the outside ends of each of most buildings. If you are on a first floor, you will be walled in with vegetation in most. Just pick the area from the map that looks best to you. Actually, I wouldn't make many requests. We sometimes request the South Point area, but usually take our chances, and are never dissapointed.

There are no bad areas at OKW. Be sure to ask for non-smoking and you might want to ask for bottom floor with little ones. Your boys are too old for the kiddie pool at the main pool area, so any of the other pool areas are fine for you. The thing about OKW is you are never far away from a bus stop and a pool. The sidewalks at OKW are not hot to the feet from the sun, but when you have to walk through a parking lot make sure the little boys have protection on their feet, it can get hot. There are ice machines at every bus stop if you need more ice. The laundry is at every pool area. Every bus stops at the main HH area before leaving for the parks, so if you want you can hop on any bus to get there. You should love the place, every pool has a play ground for kids, but the main area has a bigger area that the boys may like.

To continue the theme, there really aren't any bad spots at OKW. We bought at Boardwalk but have only stayed there once, we much prefer the quiet nature of OKW.

Funny thing happened the last a couple of years ago. We had a second floor room about 20 meters down from one of the tee boxes on the golf course. The weather was great as always and I had left the balcony door open while I went for a swim. When I came back I found a golf ball on the bed. I can't imagine how badly that golfer must have hooked his drive to get it in our room but I still have his ball!

Enjoy your trip and take lots of pictures, they'll hold you over until you can make it back...

A previous poster is right. Building 55 is great. You have a small pool right next to your building and there is even a sand area near for the little ones to play in. The view is perfect!:wave2:
