Thanks for taking the time to post the pics and info Doc. The slide looks like it will be really nice. I just wish it was going to be ready for our trip there this November
The plan is to start work in September and finish by December/January. They plan to offer boat service over to the SSR pool (plus the other 3 OKW pools will be open). Of course, the article in VM says they'll break ground this spring.....I guess we'll have to wait for future announcements.
Am I looking at the model and the pictures correctly, it looks like there is a slide exit into the pool and also a waterfall or creek style new water feature that will be added as a part of the slide that a little bridge entrance to the slide walks over. I wonder if this will be a water feature that kids will be allowed to play in along side the slide? Does this new slide feature include more than just the slide as a feature for kids to play on? Is the section between the slide exit and the other water exit into the pool a place for lifegards? I'm not sure I quite understand that shell half circle design and what it's for. Can anyone tell whether it is stairs or a gradual walkway to the top? I also can't tell what the drawing means with the brown patch headed toward the kids pool.
Interesting design. First time I've looked at it closely.
We are staying at OKW for the first time next April and I'm a huge lover of slides...I have one question though. Does it look like alot of this slide will be in the dark?? I hate when slides go pitch dark inside, not knowing where I am going. What do you think?
It looks to me like while it does circle below itself, it's probably more like the Vero Beach slide--shaded, but not dark or scary at all since light is let in from the sides above the slide part.
