Both are discounted rates, and the WDW package only includes two meals a day.
I think I know where my money would go.🤔 Is there something I am not taking account for here?Screenshot_20260106_165642_Chrome.jpg

I'd do WDW all day. We did a cruise in 2019, and I got sick on the first night. Was miserable. I'll never go on another cruise. So WDW all day for me. Plus, I'm not big on sitting and doing nothing. So I don't like anything like the beach or lakes or cruising. If I'm going on vacation, I want to go.

Hurricane season, perhaps? You could board the ship and only pay tips - everything else could be covered, and spend less. Honestly though the two vacations are so totally different I have a hard time making a good choice knowing nothing else. Without those details then I'd say cruising just because its cheaper and the captain will try to stay away from bad weather if you are unlucky.

With the cruise, there will be added expenses for shore excursions.

I am also team cruise, but they are pretty close in price. What do you want to do?

Gratuities are also an added expense on Disney cruises aren't they?

How many days is this for? I couldn't tell.

ETA: Also, even if you don't do an organized short excursion in port, unless you only hang out around the pool and just walk around the port area there will be added entertainment costs. Any museums, activities, etc are an added expense. Drinks on board, any food or snacks in port, etc. Those add up fast.

You don't have to book those however, especially depending on the cruise. Just getting off the ship and wandering around or hitting a beach is enough for a lot of folk.... and there are those who just.. don't get off the ship.

How many days is the cruise?

Will you add in drinks, dining, excursions, spa, etc to the cruise?

Which do you enjoy more?

I’d pick WDW over DCL if you were looking at Virgin I’d be torn they are on my travel list.

I’ve never been on a cruise, so I don’t know how they compare. Is that 1 also 6 nights? 3 adults in 245 sq feet for that long doesn’t sound pleasant to me. Neither does an adult sleeping on a sofa bed for 6 nights. With CSR at least there are 2 queen beds & the room is 314 sq feet, almost 30% larger. it looks like you’re pricing the regular dining plan, with 1 table service, 1 counter service, 1 snack per day. Plus you get a refillable mug, giving you unlimited sodas, coffee & tea at any resort. Many people think that’s plenty of food at a theme park. You also get an alcohol beverage with every meal. Is that included with a cruise? You may be able to save money by dropping the dining plan & paying as you go. Or booking the quick service dining plan if you don’t want table service every day. Do you need to book hotel stays the night before or after the cruise? You should include those in the cost of that trip.

Edit to add…I’ve been going to WDW for 34 years with multiple trips per year for the last 20 & never cruised, so I’d obviously pick WDW. :rotfl2:

How many nights on the cruise? And is it for the same time of year as the WDW trip (Sept)?

Does WDW include the DDP with 2QS per day, or the one with 1QS/1TS per day?

I think this is the same details, just using the 30% room discount?

Looks like it saves almost $250 for the WDW trip, but I’m not certain if taxes are included at this stage or not.

It’s for 3 people at CSR in Village - Preferred Location room, 6 day ticket and DDP with TS.

Its the two free nights and tickets discount on the WDW package. Interesting to hear diiferent opinions and experiences. If I got that bad sick on a boat, I wouldn't step foot on one. I am just really surprised at the WDW package price to be honest. And the cruise pricing, without a good discount, I wouldn't be doing that either. When we return to Disney World, I am thinking renting DVC points will be the only way for us to get lodging at a decent price.

What is the length of the cruise?
5 night cruise, and I think the WDW is 6 nights. But I wonder if with regards to the lodging, would like a AKL or WL room be more comparable to a Verandah room? I know when Disney used to do the land/sea packages, a Verandah room was always combined with a Deluxe hotel.

Not doing either right now. May cruise in the Fall. Just comparing the prices of them. Too much time on my hands. 😆

Similar time frames I would be team cruise as well. Meal’s & entertainment are provided and not having to do 25,000 steps so you can actually relax :)

I guess I forgot to mention the cruise is in March, I think. Well it is not to far away cause it has a GTY- restricted rate. So the cruise is in March, DW is in September, so the cruise IMHO is even in a better timeframe. I hope I can get a wonderful discount in September of this year on DCL.

On day 4 of a 6 day WDW trip before heading to 2 cruises on the Disney fantasy. Can not wait to board the fantasy and leave all the planning, waiting in line and constant crowds behind.

We are team cruise. WDW is too much work now.
