My DH & I own with Hilton and yesterday I traded some of our time through RCI into DVC. This is the 1st time I've ever done this. We are a family of 3 - me, DH & our 4 year old son. We will be staying in a studio at OKW from 9/30 - 10/7. I have a few questions about OKW & hope someone here can help me. :goodvibes

1. I'll preface this question by saying it doesn't really matter. I'm asking more out of curiosity. What is the condition of the OKW rooms? I just like to be prepared.

2. My concerns with OKW is the bus system & travel time to/from the parks. Is there an area, building or view that would be best in regards to the buses?

3. Are there cabs at the front like you can find at the other resorts? We would like to use a cab, rather than drive, for our early morning ADRs.

4. This isn't an OKW-specific question, but I'm still going to ask you wonderful people here. Here's the situation: On 9/29, we will be staying at Boardwalk because my DH is running the ToT 10 mile race. Our park tickets will be attached to our Boardwalk KTTW, even though our 1st park day won't be until the Monday. I am not starting the DDP until our check-in day at OKW. So, our OKW KTTW (I'm assuming you get a KTTW with DVC) will have the DDP on it. Is it possible for someone at OKW to transfer our park tickets from the Boardwalk KTTW to OKW KTTW? I hope I'm making sense.

1. OKW completed a renovation of all rooms in 2011 so your room should be in good shape.

2. There are 5 bus stops at the resort, so all buildings are close to a stop. All buses make a stop at the Hospitality House (front desk area) before leaving the resort and there is also an internal bus that stops at HH and then on to all of the other stops.

3. The Bell Staff will be happy to get a cab for you. They are not usually waiting at the resort but are never more than a few minutes away. If you know when you'll need a cab you can make arrangements the evening before for an early ADR.

4. Yes, the concierge staff at the resort can transfer park admission to your OKW KKTW card.

Have a great stay! :)

Thank you so much for answering my questions! You have been most helpful. And, I have to admit, that I'm very happy to know they just finished a refurb there. Yay! :woohoo:

That really was so kind of you to post these for me. I showed my DH & told him, "See! This is why I love the people on the DIS." There's so many people here ready to help!

I have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised by the photos. I now know that the photos I had been looking at were definitely pre-refurb. My favorite photo? The one of the balcony rails with the Mickey heads in it!

Again, I really appreciate you posting these photos for me! :goodvibes I can feel my excitement coming back!

I made a video of a one bedroom. You will love it for future vacations. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing this! That looks like a large 1 bedroom villa. I like that it does seem bright & airy in their rooms.

Sidenote: I'm currently looking to purchase a good steam mop. I got all excited when I saw in the video that they had a Shark Steam Mop in the closet. That's one I'm looking at buying. If it's good enough for Disney, maybe it's good enough for me. :rotfl:
